Hi everyone -- first, THANK YOU yesterday was an incredible moment and we learned so much! We will keep working to make the experience better for you.

    Some notes:

-WE HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. Yesterday we rolled the big gate up all morning in order to bring the line into the building, and by the time we closed it there were just too many bodies and warmth in the space for the AC to catch up with it to cool the building down. Eventually we decided to just open the gate in order to bring in fresh air. Today will be a better test of the AC because we will be able to keep the door closed all day. Also we will be bringing in some drum fans to move air around in case it gets hot again.

-Prices are "tax included." This was always our intention but we had an incorrect setting on our POS. It will be fixed today.

-A few people noted that the 20% default setting on the POS for merch is too high. We agree, and will address it. It's a little bit complicated because it's standard to have that setting for bartending service, and the setting is "system-wide" -- so we can't have one default for the bar and another for the merch/to-go stand.

-Many of you mentioned that we shouldn't have barstools at can release time. You have a good point; the crush around the bar was too deep. We will fix it going forward.

-We still have all to-go the beers in stock today.

Thanks for the valuable feedback on how we can make things great.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

I may have missed it, but I didn’t see an “other” button on the merch POS. That would solve the problem for me.

Also, the AC was a huge issue. The thermometer near the tanks said 85°, which is insane. Given that can releases are going to be a regular thing, I think this needs some more thought.

There was a suggested tip, custom tip, and no tip button. But yeah, a 20% suggested tip is a bit on the high side for to-go so we'll address it. Honestly it just autopopulated and we didn't think about it until there was an issue.

Messed up on the tax huh? You own me $7... Glad you did the backwards tax math so annoying dealing with change if you pay cash at a bar.

For months, I'd been wondering when the brewery might open and I figured I hear about it ahead of time. So last night on the very rare occasion when my wife and I were in a car cruising through the area, the brewery wasn't on my mind. But I looked out the window and, wait, could that be?... I said to her, I think that's the Grimm Brewery and it's open! We stopped by later and were blown away by the space -- it's beautiful! Given the brewery's can designs and art school origins, I wouldn't have expected anything else. What to call this Scandi plants-a-plenty aesthetic? Neo Nordic Fern Bar? In any case, the place is stunning. And for a cavernous space, it has good acoustics -- a factor I think many bars neglect to consider but is so important when there are hordes of loud-talking drunk people. Congrats, Grimm!!!!

Issues aside, I had a great time and am looking forward to another visit when it’s a little quieter.

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales are can/bottle releases going to be a weekly thing?

I had nice time as well, and the brewery is looking fantastic. The can of Lambo Door I had last night was insanely good. Tap room was slammed as I was checking out, so I'll try to go sometime this week when it's a little quieter so I can sit at the bar and soak it all in. Congrats again @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales!

Don't worry, they don't accept cash at the bar... my only gripe on an otherwise great release.

Glad you guys are still reading the thread for feedback and fixing issues. That said. See you later.

So, verdict/tasting notes on the new beers? I'm definitely going for some flow state and the Saison the coupage.

I get one piece of glassware from my favorite breweries and I have to say I love the teku for 0 anniversary. Feminine traits on the outside but masculine on the inside. I dropped it twice (I have a problem) and it didn't break. More substantial than most tekus and a beautiful design.

This is only the second time that I have had over 30 cans of Grimm in my refrigerator.
The first time I discovered how the beer evolves over time.
I determined that the beer does need a small amount of time to reach its peak.
Some of the best cans I have had were about 3-4 weeks past the canning date.
It will be interesting to chronicle the evolution of this batch of Lambo Door!

Wait so are we being refunded the tax on our purchases?

I would go under the assumption no. For the POS most breweries have to refund that is too difficult. Considering our love for Grimm, and it being fixed on day 2, i'd like to think we can let this one slide, buuuuut, I could be wrong.
