Just picked up the pack on the way home from work- $14.99 @ Wegmans Burlington.

Agree, that IPA is damn murky - but tasty. Looking forward to the rest of the pack.

I liked them all. Hoppy Pilsner was probably my favorite, the Double IPA was probably my least favorite. Double IPA was good, but had this sort of berry-like aftertaste that I wasn't keen on. Interestingly, aside from the IPA, the rest were clear and bright.

Did it taste like a New England style IPA? Or just look the part?

Soft mouthfeel and lower bitterness for sure, but closer in flavor profile to a Sierra Nevada IPA (albeit with southern hemisphere hops) than your typical NEIPA.

More in looks. Definitely still had that signature SN taste - perhaps due to the Chico yeast?

Clown Shoes is on a roll. This stuff is superb, especially at less than $10 for a 22. Crank up the AC and it's stout season again.

For anyone who's happy to pay MBC prices, Sav-Mor Liquors in medford (the one on 16 next to the whole foods) has a little treasure trove of their IPAs tucked away on the warm shelves right across from their refrigerated bombers when you walk in. All bottled within the last week. They were half hidden by stray boxes and appeared to have been afforded the attention of a bunch of outdated Schlitz.

There's a couple dozen bottles of Lunch, A tiny beautiful something, and Woods and Waters. No signs indicating a limit. It seemed like such a cool find that I almost bought some, but my cheapness and stubborness about their pricing/format won out.

Oh wow, awesome. I live right around the corner (just moved there) and was curious what kind of selection that store had.

Might pick up a bottle of Lunch even though my fridge is stocked (luckily stocked full of low ABV summery beers for the heat and the Fourth).

Just so you don't get your hopes up, it's not a great store (which is why it was such a surprise to find that stash). Messy shelves and indifferently stocked and organized beer. The clever quips on the sign are generally the high point. But it can fit the bill when you just need to grab something quick after a trip to Whole Foods, and it's marginally better than the little store next to the Stop n Shop up the street. Giles is the best option in the immediate area.

In other area news, there's a brand new ramen place that's supposed to be fantastic right at 16 and Boston Ave too.

Anyone looking for a good craft beer store on the cape, I stumbled upon Moonshine Liquors in Dennis last weekend and was extremely impressed by the craft beer selection. Right down the street from Devil's Purse too

So, I was back in the store today and saw most of these still sitting there and I figured 'what the hell? Why not splurge since it's only a week old and it's been forever since I had one.'

So I bring a bottle of Lunch up to the register and it's....... $9. I was ready for $7, and might have even gone $8 if only to avoid the embarassment of saying 'too expensive'. But I just couldn't do $9 which I can't help but think of as a nearly $40 four pack.

I'll be curious how long they stick around at that price.

I habitually pass on all MBC product. My wife picked me up a woods and waters she came across the other day on her own. I dont want to discourage this type of behavior so I didn't say anything but thank you. It will be my first MBC beer in a very long time.

Please do report back. That one sounded like a cool impetus for a beer and maybe some of the exorbitant price makes it back to the Katahdin folks.

Classic MBC. Reminds me of another one in many ways. Big fluffy head, great smell, medium light mouthfeel with prickly carb, hop saturated, dry with a soft smooth bitter finish. It's a very well done beer. A beer I would drink a lot more of if...

I honestly dont know how they're still around except IPA hype. I've tried their mean old tom and king titus and found them very disappointing

Were they old? I thought both were phenomenal. However, I have not had them in about 5 years, since each was a one time buy due to the price.

Strolled in today and bought one. I should really pay attention to price, I just buy shit and head home. Still would have bought it though since it’s fresh and I haven’t had it in awhile.

There were three left, now only two...unless I missed something.

I had Boston Wine Exchange on Devonshire St. try to charge me $10 for a bottle of Lunch a couple years back. Needless to say, I don't visit that store anymore... too many better options now in downtown Boston.

Ha. I actually thought of you when I posted that because of that thread where people were giving you (good natured) shit for being too wealthy to pay attention to price

    Pretty dumpy store eh?
