I probably haven't gone more than a day without a beer in 15 years....but I'm going to try and take a break until the end of July.

Didn't want you guys to think I got hit by a bus, but I'll be absent from WBAYDN, etc....way too big of a temptation to browse but not drink.

This is definitely a challenge for me....as a homebrewer and frequent brewery visitor, beer is a big part of my life. But with two young kids, lots going on at work, some dependency concerns, and rising blood pressure....figure I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

    Wish me luck!

Look at it from the standpoint of how good that beer will taste when you have them again next month. What I noticed after a break is that beer had more flavor and I could pick up a lot of the small things I was not tasting in a beer. It's not as hard as you think once you get that 1st week over.
    Cheers and enjoy the rest....

I honestly was going to take a break starting today, but I broke up with my girlfriend this morning...so the brews are going down!

I think you’ll be surprised at the improvement in your quality of life. Sleep better, more energy, better mood. Fight the good fight! You can do it! That first beer will taste amazing. In my case, it improved my quality of life so much that I stopped during the week entirely. Makes brews that much more of a pleasurable experience. Cheers

I found all this to be true when I had to not drink for two weeks because of medication restrictions. Enjoy experiencing these benefits, OP, and enjoy your well planned first beer at the end of the month. Good luck. And Cheers!

I cut out beer during the week, the one thing I noticed was a change in my waistline

Do we want to live forever?

I take a month after the Super Bowl off every year, you'll lose 10 lbs and feel a bit crisper in the mornings, good luck it's not hard at all.

Good luck! Perhaps when you come back, skip some days of the week from beer.

Good Luck! My next break will be at my funeral so everybody walk by and pour some of your favorite beer on me, chug the rest and put the empties in my casket. Leave me one to get me to the other side. Praise the Lord and Pass the Beer!!

Planning on doing the same come August once my bday passes, godspeed friend. Everytime I take even a week off I start sleeping better and end up actually following the workout routine I always tell people I have. Best of luck! Water and coffee will be your friends

In my experience, there are typically 2 reasons to take an extended break from beer.
    1. Your doctor/prescription label tells you to.
    2. You decided to.

I like #2 so much more, for multiple reasons. The main one being.. it's your own. A quick reset will do you good! Catch you in August..
