Side Project (2018)

I can’t wait to do BAA and Chemtrail side by side.

My point of reference is Hoppin Frog, non-barrel aged, no flavorings added, but hefty and complex. Had I suckled the teet of a more fluid stout when I first fell in love with the style, I'd likely view things differently, but I'm fortunate enough to gulp down fresh drafts of their various year round stout production far too often.

 

On draft for release day it was motor oil thick. (Baa)

 

I think the BBT actually was just a term for that vessel (bright beer tank?) and the beer is D9? I have seen breweries with a white board like that where they draw up their tanks and then can write and erase what beer is where.

i like a lot of the stouts i’ve had from hoppin frog! both BA and nonBA.

@Sabtos has built hoppin frog up. I’ve got some stouts from them coming to try. Never had any.

 

we started getting distro from them over a year ago and i’ve liked a lot of what i’ve tried. would be cool to try some of the brewery-only releases (if they do that sort of thing)

 

For something that's reasonably accessible (trade with someone in New England), Clown Shoes's Snow on the Maple Tree is a stout aged in bourbon barrels that previously held maple syrup, and that's it. No coffee, no vanilla, no cinnamon, etc. And it's really nicely done! That would be a good one to seek out if you're interested in trying a maple stout without anything else going on.

Blueberry Flanders was the first Side Project beer I ever tasted. Sad that I'm gonna miss this release.

 

That was my first Side Project beer I have had as well. Had it at Bigelo's Bistro during one of the bottle shares!

 

Can't believe no one mentioned Blueberry Flanders being sold to go before the release date
