I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly was the issue but it was a struggle to finish even 4oz of it.

 

I think it was excellent but if I’d based it on my initial reaction I probably would have disliked also. It just reaffirms my belief that the 4 ounce pours in general and more specifically the shitty glasses they use do no justice to a beer. I took my time getting through the 12 ounce pour of the coffee IPA and was in awe at how pronounced the Mosaic hops were while also getting caramel, toffee, vanilla and nuttiness from the coffee. I loved it.

The Veil collab is great too.

 

The Veil collab was the only of the 4 I liked, I wish I could pick up a 4pk but I'm not waiting in line for it.

 

Yoooooooo. This was awesome. This is a little out of my comfort zone, I would have thought, but Jesus Christ it was perfect after working all day and then working out.

 

I think Great Notion is an awful brewery. They will overwhelm every beer with any artificial flavor. I just don’t get why people get excited that a beer tastes just like a blueberry muffin or pancakes.

 

Alright rookie question

Passing through NYC around noon tomorrow (sat) on a long road trip. Thinking of stopping at OH to grab cans. What can I expect? I'll still have a few hrs of driving ahead of me - are lines such that stopping will require a massive amount of time or are things fairly tame these days? Will I be able to get cans if I'm not lined up before opening?

 

By noon most if not all of the line will be gone. You will likely get some beer, but probably not all of the cans being released.

 

Anyone try Saber? Thoughts?

 

How’s the line?

 

Looks like the early Untappd reviews aren’t too positive; however, the grape juice style is definitely not for everyone.

 

I didn't care for it, its very wine forward, unlike the Trillium Dialed In series where its a bit more balanced.

 

Lower abv brews are present, just abroad

 

No line. Lots of beer.

 

Today was probably the first day there were cans available and i opted for growlers instead. Go Croatia!!

 

Two phones is pretty harsh, I'll revisit in a couple of weeks.

 

Saber is great, and this is coming from someone who really isn't a fan of Nelson hops. Two Phones isn't bad, either. Economic Realities and Strawberry Whipz were pretty meh. Strawberry Whipz was a lot better than Laid Back, though, which I thought tasted/smelled quite a bit like bile.

 

Space Hallucinations didn’t evolve into the beauty I hoped it would. Too sweet and malty on the backend. Maybe the next all Galaxy triple doesn’t need to be ‘tosed. The Citra triple daydream tho... that rocked.

 

The flavor of Strawberry Whipz is fine, but it's upsettingly thin for a 'tose beer.

Economic Realities is kind of a mess, honestly. I like coffee and IPAs the same way I like chocolate ice cream and onions.

 

I just assume the same people who enjoy coffee IPAs also enjoy citrusy coffee, and those people are wrong.
