New to Ohio (2018)

He will not. I have had beers with @miketd and he is more point and grunt kind of guy.

So head hunter has long been my "go to" ipa and furthermore I never understood the love for Columbus bodhi, creeper, ipa etc...

Well insane wanderer has changed the game. I kept telling myself I didn't want to believe I liked it more than HH... then I tried them side by side and it wasn't even close.

 

Did you have the recent batches (last 2 bottlings) of Creeper? It was insane. Easily the most drinkable 10%+ IPA I have ever had. Dangerously so.

 

@tcorder219 You nailed it with Fountain Swimmer and the new version of Nelson Brut was incredible! The event at Beer Engine seemed like a huge success - saw lots of people digging the Pancake Breakfast. The day your NEIPAs and bruts are canned will be the best day of my life.

 

Just picked up some more IW in Athens. If you can brave the road construction they have some that was brewed on 6/27

I am truly convinced that Columbus Brewing is one of the most underrated IPA breweries on this site. Had some Lawson's Sip of Sunshine last week from Vermont and it was good, but it wasn't as good as this IPA. Put this beer in a can and stick a Trillium or Tree House logo on it and it's some kind of OMG WHITE WHALE!

 

I’m close to giving up the chase in NE Ohio. Went to a lot of stores and supermarkets over the weekend and late last week without finding any. Even found some CBS on the shelf, which you would think is more difficult to get.

 

The southern part of the state is the place to go honestly. I got mine in Athens at a Kroger.

 

There was plenty in the Falls. Drank 4 tonight, easy drinking, wonderful body with a nice little bitter bite. Not about to go overboard and say it's better than Bodhi, Creeper, and Yakima though. Good brew.

 

I like it more than Bodhi and Creeper but not as much as Yakima.

Yakima is my all time favorite beer. I've had plenty of IPA's and Yakima is still the tops.

 

I imagine it will show up in NEO later this week. The holiday last week just messed up the delivery schedule.

 

Agreed, I thought it was a solid IPA but not nearly as great as those 3. I'd put it about on par with their regular IPA.

 

I saw a couple of 6pks today at Red, Wine & Brew in Mentor..

 

Is anyone hyped for some Autumn Ohio offerings?

Football, leaves changing, Halloween time. I cannot wait.

 

Summer is way too short here, I want it to stay hot and sunny for as long as possible. Plus it's better on my waistline for a variety of reasons.

Absolutely hyped. I adore both of those beers.

 

I'm bummed out tho bc I heard Pumking is different this year.
