Ocean City has become the ultimate family destination for people with money . Real estate prices whether rentals or purchase are through the roof .
I’m about 20 mins away from downtown OC since we moved .
It’s a great place to raise a family and their high school is top notch .
My son runs the 9th street bridge one day a week with the team .
I’m sure it’s just a bit more touristy nowadays then in the 50’s .
I go there more in the off-season to be honest as it’s too crowded during the summer .

Beer #5, if I can get out of leaving the house it won't be my last but who knows. Gonna have another turkey burger and see where this buzz takes me

Rainy evening, don't think it will last too long. Glad to have Mrs. Powell home! SN Southern Hemisphere IPA to round out my reviews of this variety 12 pack. All 4 offerings are solid, very drinkable

It is Almost Friday so I took the training wheels off. Not by choice, I just sort of stumbled into it.

Stopped by a friend’s place for some non-beer reasons. But, he suggested opening up a large format Saison Dupont. I didn’t want to be rude so happily joined him in a frosty beverage.

That then led to a few beers. What the hell, after all it is Almost Friday.

Hubbard’s Cave Fresh IPA v8 Fresh by 8/27/18. That was damn good. I’d buy that again.

Trillium Permutation #51. Simcoe. With a side of Simcoe. You better like Simcoe. Did I mention the Simcoe?

Mystic Double Voltage. This didn’t really work for me. Love their beers, but something going odd for me on this hopping. I didn’t finish it.

So called an audible and went with another of the recent Trillium / Other Half collab. I’d buy that for a dollar.

    Stay thirsty my friends. Cheers.

Back home, craving hops, this tropical APA fruit bomb from Evil Czech fits the bill.

Noble Roots IPA, at Noble Roots Brewing in Green Bay, WI. This is a neat place, but if you find yourself looking for a good beer on the east side of Green Bay, you should probably just stop at my house. @Lahey is coming over to watch both Detroit Lions versus Green Bay Packers games this season.

The moment I cracked the tab to open this beer, I knew I was in for a treat. Tropical, fruit-laden and creamy, with a pungent kick of pineapple. Definitely one of the best NEIPA's I've had so far!

Fatamorgana quad dry hopped. This was fantastic as expected. Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honey malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, minimal hop astringency. Dangerously smooth for 8%, almost refreshing. Great soft feel. I reviewed the base beer 4 years ago, this did not blow me away as much. Will definitely buy this again, though. All Citra, Centennial, and CTZ hops. Super juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy balanced hop complexity; with a nice bready wheat/oat/malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Delicious spot on NEIPA style. Base was probably the first NEIPA I ever had, so having others over time probably shifted the opinion down. 4.2

This was excellent. Great head retention/lacing for a sour. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy strawberries, rhubarb, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malt; light pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, lactic acid, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy fruit dryness, no pucker. Very flavorful/refreshing, 6.2%. Not overly lactic. Awesome balance of jammy fruit and Lacto; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. There is no Brett in there at all, but still delicious. I expected a kettle sour as it was. 4

Image hosting issues caused a bit of a delay. I am home now, but I just had this surprisingly good IPA, originating from the home city of the 2018 MLB National League champions.

Haha, I'll be the one with the bag on my head. If I'm ever in the area, I'll hit you up for sure. I was supposed to visit with mothergoose a couple weeks ago, but we didn't make it to his neck of the woods on my latest beercation. It's nice to have people I can meet for a beer all over the place when I make it there!
