So how many people in the line for cans are staying for the cellar bottles? That was the whole point, right?

No cellar bottles until 3pm tomorrow. That will be a long wait.

Back then it kinda made sense. There were not nearly as many options for BA beers or NEipas in the area. Now there is so much competition for everything. No reason for this kind of madness.

    I agree.

Word of advice to every that is upset about missing out -

Go to your closest bottle shop and buy a 4-pack of Ninja vs Unicorn. You’ll probably enjoy it more anyway.

It's great for people who have the time and the inclination, but at this point, I'm going to happily stroll over to Binny's, peruse the aisle for 10 minutes, and walk out with good beer.

And I may be in the minority, but the more frequent, less yield canning runs from morE aren't doing them in favors in my eyes. I liked being able to run over several hours or even a day or two later to grab cans. Even then, I felt lucky that I had the flexibility to do that with my schedule when many people don't.

At this point, they're pretty much off my radar unless I happen to find myself in Villa Park.

Maybe I'm mis-remembering the difference between the last 3-5 years, it's definitely been bad throughout (just what level of bad).

But I mean, in 2011, I was able to stroll into Binnys days after the King Henry release and get bottles. Even for a few years after that you could find BCBS when it was released by putting in just minimal effort.

without question, and it will cost half as much.

not upset, just annoyed. this happens all the time. i was only interested in frooted as i've never been able to snag cans. when MORE put up the calendar for this weekends activities i was happy because it looked like they were doing can releases each day. didnt realize that changed until this morning when someone on here mentioned it.

we are swimming in legit beer here in chicago. its everywhere and is easily accessible. just sucks these breweries constantly do releases of some of their heavy hitters on weekdays at open.

It's all about the $$$$$$$ and if you can get a full days receipts by 2:00, why not. Half Acre was nice and chill earlier today but no henna pours. Lol

This is the most true part of this whole discussion. All this nonsense has only made me re-discover how much I love beers by Sierra Nevada, Half Acre, Pipeworks, etc.

I'd much rather drink a Lizard Kind or Daisy Cutter than most of the NE IPAs on the market nowadays.

But by the same token, as breweries have increased so have the amount of craft beer drinkers. So it isn't like the supply surpassed demand, the demand has grown. It's mind boggling how many women there are into craft beer now. It was almost as if someone lifted some Jim Crow like law banning women from being into craft beer. These fests amaze me at how many woman there are now compared to how male centric they were a few years ago.

The real answer is we all have to become independently wealthy so we can hire these neckbeards to camp out for us. I have an awesome job with a lot of flexibility. However, I cannot get to a brewery at 11 really any day of the week. I don't know how these people are able to pull this off.

Nothing amuses me more than average joe neck beard thinking the beer world should revolve around their 9-5/Mon-Fri job.

i'm pretty sure that the average joe neck beard doesn't have a 9-5/Mon-Fri job.

The beer world owes me shit. If I can get out to some of these releases great, if not life will go on.

I work four 10s, Mon-Thur with the flexibility of switching a day in advance. Had the option when I was hired and took it. Kind of sucks starting at 6 am but the payoff is 3-day weekends every week. This kind of scheduling has actually gotten more popular in the last few years. Ask your employer if it's an option.

Yeah it is. My wife did that at her old company. Truth be told, I'll be working from home 3 days a week starting in August. If I lived close to any of these breweries I'd probably swing out during lunch haha.
