Bummed about some specific ads on the site

    I understand that the site needs to generate revenue. I don't have a problem with that.

    However, all of the ads I've been getting are either from a site that encourages cheating on your spouse or an apartheid state.

    I like to jack off as much as the next guy, but what's up with that?

    I just keep getting the Israel ads with either the girl on the surfboard, or the girl in front of an old stone wall. And some beer ads. Shrug.

    My guess is that the site uses Google Adsense or some similar ad service that tailors ads to your search history, social media and whatnot. That's just a guess -- but it is what most sites do these days.

    Yeah, whenever I log off the ads that I see are related to what I've been visiting or looking up. Most recently Caribbean resorts and pet food.

    I’m not a premium member (I don’t do that shit) and all of the ads are relevant for me. Front page has 2 ads for Founders and 1 for a home brewing class/book thingy. FYI, most ad services these days use an algorithm that uses your browser data from frequently visited sites, relevant searches, etc.....if your getting inappropriate advertisements stop visiting inappropriate sites :grin:

    I only use BA on the computer at work, and I can guarantee the "Cheat on your wife" ads have nothing to do with the searching we do here, namely just reading BA, HBT and Shut Up About Barclay Perkins lol
