According to availability: Vault - Mosaic Imperial and/or Grey Sail - Captains Daughter

I'm not sure where you are located in PA, but I get my bottle/can mixers at The Beer Shoppe in Ardmore, or Waywood Beverage in Kennett Square. Neither have a problem with mixing and matching any size or type. Cool thing about the The Beer Shoppe is, that it's close to Tired Hands and Iron Hill is 100ft away.

I tend to agree, as the heavier malts do it for me and can make for some really interesting tastes along with the hops. IPAs can sometimes be a bit "harsher" and a bit too one note for me. I remember when I first got into craft beer many many (many) moons ago and I tried some IPAs and didn't really care for them. I steered clear of DIPAs because I figured well that would just be double of what I didn't care for. But I ended up trying one and it really clicked with me and it was fun comparing IPAs to DIPAs.

So I guess it can be said that the DIPAs brought me into hoppier beers and then I could start to appreciate IPAs.

As for me I really don't have a go to DIPA because there are enough seasonals that pop up that I can try. However if nothing is out at the time and I want to grab a year rounder ST 2XIPA, SP Resin, DFH 90 Minute, Victory DW (although I don't feel as if this beer is quite what it used to be) come to mind right now.

Dogfish Head did it for me, particularly the 120 minute IPA. Now I can enjoy an IPA enough to at least try a new one, often based on reviews from BA. Thanks to all you contributors. I had been on a Community Mosaic kick lately because it's available on tap at places I frequent. But my go to DIPA would be the 90 Minute IPA because it's readily available at finer stores and people like it. Six Point Resin is also fantastic. It's a wonderful new world of beers coming to enjoy IPAs of different types, styles and brewers.

Red Rock Elephino. Widely available here in Utah so it's easy to find it fresh, and it stands up with the best out-of-state ones I've had.

We are all encumbered by distributors and market dynamics. However, SixPoint Resin remains a stellar example of a piney IPA....

I think Revision DIPA is the best core, year-round DIPA out.

Lately I've been drinking a lot of DFH 90 Minute, that beer is fantastic IMO

if it were available I would go for a Dreadnaught every few weeks.

locally, probably Double Simcoe. but a long time since I had a DFH 90.

DIPAs are sort of a special occasion type of beer for me. In the past they were a means to the bad ending. So no, I don't have standby. I will normally just by a single of whatever seems relatively fresh. Sometimes this will be a Singlecut or other times Captain's Daughter or whatever Lagunitas is pumping out as a seasonal.

Relativity dipa by ellison is a great one. 8% so it's not too crazy, but great taste and very drinkable. I'd recommend it to anyone here, I feel like it would please lovers of any kind of ipa.

Lawson's sip of sunshine for me. Although I do understand that's not nationally distributed, and only started hitting NY not long ago.

I have enjoyed Lord Hobo's Boomsauce on several occasions and recently tried their Virtuoso and was very impressed. This is a NE DIPA, orange haze at its finest.

This is my new go to, I still have one bottle left.

I got to try it in Washington DC a few weeks ago, and brought a 4 pack home. I would definitely buy it quite often if it was distributed here.

I suppose “go to” would have to mean readily accessible, but I would probably say Columbus Brewing Bodhi anyway. Still probably easiest drinking one. Sixpoint Resin and Lagunitas Hop Stoopid would round out my top 3.

In a world where they were year rounds were all around the country, my short list would consist of Sip of Sunshine, Ninja vs. Unicorn, Pliny, and Focal Banger

Funny enough no I don't, never thought about that before, but the Dipas I drink tend to be what's fresh. So Mikkeller SD seems to be popular.
