About what I figured. From what I've read in this thread previously, it sounds like they keep on selling beer until the line is gone or until they run out of beer. I've never heard of them running out of beer, but was hoping they kept the place open on the West Side for another hour or two after the line ends, in case there are some stragglers (wishful thinking on my part probably).

I'm going to call over to GN before I drive over there, as I don't want to make that drive if there's no point. I'll let you know on this thread what I hear.

Is there a phone number for NW location?

No. Portland has none of that technology.

Ignore me. I'm too drunk already today.

There’s a number on their website for NE location, I don’t believe there’s one on there for NW

Hopefully they make them available Monday at Alberta location

    Otherwise I may be SOL

I know it sounds incredible, but it's impossible to find out if/when they run out without actually going over there. The folks at the pub indicated they usually stop selling cans by 2:00, and so more than likely if you or I were to go over there now, we would be SOL. Oh well... Will try to stop by on Monday.

And no, they do not have any phone service on the West side location.

And perhaps this isn't the best day to visit the brewpub. It's hotter than hell in here, and neither the fans or AC are going.

Sigh... But on the other hand, the mango and mochi ipa and current double stack are really, really good. The current DS is one of the better batches I've had in a while. The sweetness is toned down a bit, and the coffee and maple are more center stage.

Well shoot. This is good to know. And yet it is not good to know.

Why the use of the qualifier, "artificial"? Weren't they just a 7 bbl brewpub until they opened their new production facility? Should they have put a higher percentage of their beer in crowlers, even if it meant jeopardizing their draft supply in such a limited operation? Would that truly have been wiser?

Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar, and scarcity is just scarcity. Regardless, everyone can be happy that they are now brewing and canning significantly more beer.

Well, the "scarcity" is likely not on the brewery, but on us. Consumers probably drove the hype-mobile, creating demand where there might not have been any, and thusly creating "artificial scarcity". Or not. I dunno, and it's damn early in the morning for too much thinking.

When GN first opened, there typically were at least 3 or 4 beers available in crowler format at any one time. As I assume you probably know, GN made the conscious decision to cut back signicantly on crowler fills to make sure they didn't run short of beer in the brewpub (while they completed the build out of their production facility). At least that was their stated reason. That was certainly their prerogative, but it seemed a bit surprising at the time, as I don't believe there were any reported shortages at the brewpub. In any event, regardless of the reason, GN crowlers became very difficult to come by and demand thereafter skyrocketed.

Perhaps I used the word "artificial" incorrectly, but it seemed to me that the huge demand for GN beer (in crowler format) was caused by a shortage that never really existed.

That being said, I completely agree with your last statement in your post. Cheers!

Anyone know what limits were yesterday and what they have typically been the day they make them available in the brewpub?

When they’re moved to the brewpub, are they available at open typically or could it be later in the day?

Typically, they're available when they open on Monday. In the past, it's been one 4 pack per customer. That being said, I would not be surprised if at some point GN increases the current limit. The bar tender mentioned that they still had 4 packs for sale from the prior release when they opened yesterday (and had just run out before I arrived).

Juice Jr. is real good, but Orange Creamsicle is amazing.
I figured a case limit for each wouldn't leave too much left for Monday sales.

There was no limit for either on Saturday.

What were the limits for the prior release?

I was expecting them to last longer in the brewpub due to the prior release being available until Friday

I assumed it was a case limit since I saw plenty of people coming out with 2 cases, but didn't see any more than that. I only bought a 4 pack of both.
