A buddy and I are going to the Foo Fighters concert in a couple of weeks, at Wrigley. We are both baseball fans and are going to a Sox game @ GRF while we're in town. We plan on buying SRO tickets and moving around to the different beer venues while watching the game. Does anyone have any recommendations on good places for beer with field vantage points?

Also, any good recommendations towards a must visit craft brewery near Wrigley? We're staying up in Roscoe. Thanks!

I haven’t had SRO at GRF, but I would make sure you have lower deck access. I know as of a few years ago you couldn’t move down from the upper deck to the lower deck. Anyways, the Revolution taproom has first come/first served seating by the left field foul pole. Also, the Kraft Kave beneath the right field bleachers has quite the array of craft beers compared to any park.

Corridor is in walking distance of Wrigley Field. Their head brewer job just changed but I’d still recommend it for now

Here are a list of beers available for the White Sox and where they are available. Seems they have added a Craft Cave Express in section 542 in addition to the Craft Cave itself.

Although it was created last year, there is a thread which might have some ideas as well

For Wrigley, you might want to check out this thread for ideas.

Sox Park is loaded with decent beer options. Wrigley, the opposite.

    This, for sure.
Half Acre is less than 2 miles away as well.

If you have time stop by Marz Brewing before the Sox game. It is less than 2 miles away.

Outstanding suggestions, thank you all very much! I did not even think there might be access restrictions to different levels of the ballpark, we’ll look into that. Is the Kraft Kave open to the field, can you see the field at all or is it an interior room with TVs?

The brewery suggestions are much appreciated as well. We’ll be hitting those up on Sun/Mon. Are there any weird Sunday alcohol laws up there in the city?

Enjoy the beer and food at GRF, many different options of both. Unfortunately not much to enjoy on the field, coming from a die hard Sox fan. Have fun

FWIW, when I went to a Sox game about three weeks ago the ushering was decidedly lax. We had 100-level seats but no one checked out tickets when we got to that level, and they only had ushers every second or third section so it was no problem for our group of five to get a free upgrade from bleacher to box.

No idea if this is the state of the park these days or if we were just there on an understaffed night.

Also? You can tailgate in the parking lots, which is awesome.

Everyone does the old buy corner OF tickets and go to the 100 level trick at GRF. I've done it loads of times.

Also for the topic creator, make sure you hit up the craft beer place in RF. They had Hop Butcher when I was there a couple weeks ago.

For sure. I hadn't been to a Sox game since 2015; maybe the present situation is the new normal. In the post-Ligue era, they were super strict about only letting 100-level ticket holders onto the 100-level to prevent any more Gamboaings....

I feel ya, Palos. Same is true for us down here in STL @ Busch. Although we're currently having a better season than the Sox, it is not a good season by Cardinals' standards. BTW, do any of you guys know how to manage a MLB team...?

Baseball is still baseball and a good beer is still the one in my hand...

Thanks for the seating bonus info. Also, thanks for the heads-up on Hop Butcher, I've been looking to try those guys out!

Lizard King may be something you have had but it’s an unusually good ballpark beer

I have not. You don't see Pipeworks down here. Thanks for the tip!

I went to GRF last weekend for the beer and food and happened to catch a Sox/Royals game while I was there. The beer was the clear winner though.

Do they offer anything like Deth's Tar or Straightjacket in the Rev taproom? Would be a great way to ease the pain in the late innings after they've fallen behind (saying this as a Sox fan too).

We gave the manager some crap for the lack of BA product up there a few weeks ago -- he said he'd love to do it but team management doesn't want anything that high ABV to be served, even in tiny sippy cups. He did say there was a small chance they might be able to persuade them to do so before the end of the season.

Also only about half of the offerings up there are Rev -- they have other local stuff as well.

Go to Sheffield's before/after the event at Wrigley. They have excellent food (great BBQ) and have a stellar draft list. It's just a couple blocks south of Wrigley Field on Sheffield.
