It was a hot day today but it is starting to cool off, dipping below 104 degrees (below 40 Celsius). Tomorrow it will be 110. The cicadas are keeping it loud. I am drinking a cold 3 fonteinen Oude Geuze a refreshing Gueuze from Brouwerij Drie (3) Fonteinen, Belgium, ABV 5.80%. A Gueuze is a blend of old and new Lambics that has been aged a few years for a more intense and dry flavor. It is quite tart and dry. The flavor is tart lemon, green apples, some grapefruit, and white wine.

Amazing PB porter! Glad these are in cans now. Aromas and flavors of huge peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, dark fruit, and herbal hops. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; very creamy/bready and fairly silky malt mouthfeel; light sticky hops and chalky roast. Lightly increasing lingering hop/roast bitter dryness. Very rich for 6.2%. Tons of PB and coffee flavor, with great balance of the base porter. Spot on style. Will be buying this a lot now. Glad we get Hoppin' Frog in MI now. An old hometown favorite brewery for sure.

Fantastic scotch ale as always. Flavors of big caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, raisin, prune, plum, fig, cherry, and date; with lighter notes of chocolate, nuttiness, peat smoke, and leather. Touch of butterscotch and coconut. Light herbal hop bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy and fairly silky mouthfeel; lightly slick, sticky, chalky, and tannic from bourbon/oak and roast malts. Slight tannic dryness. Lightly warming 9.5%, no barrel booze. Extremely impressive and well rounded on complexity. Not overdone/boozy on barrel notes. Great mouthfeel, very smooth. Might grab another 4 pack, but been doing singles because I can. Just got another release last fall. Still plenty around. CW has basically only been sending MI the reserve and limited bomber releases. Wish they sent their year round stuff, but I am glad to have these always easily available. Love all of them, but Peruvian Morning is the definite top favorite.

Tasty stout but need to let it warm up. Coconut and whiskey/rum on the nose. Chocolate and barrel on the taste. Gonna have to take the second pour outside with a cigar.

I envy the homeless. They don't have to go to work, people throw them food, they shit wherever they feel like, it's the next best thing to being a cow.
