So I move away and Fadtastic and Tropical Gose in cans get released, W6 wins with Pennyrile, Mo Beam and an orange berliner get released in cans, plus snake cake in crowlers. Whats next, Country Boy is going to release a BBA stout that is top notch? Damn you Ky, I am going to be in my little corner over in LA trying to not think about the goodness back in Lex.

Don’t know that you have to worry about CBB making a top notch BA stout these days... but you’re right about the rest!

Mo Beam, Pennyrile, and Blood Orange Valencia Berliner cans at West Sixth today, Hazy But Lazy cans at Mirror Twin. Those HBL cans will not likely last the day, probably 30-40 4-packs left right now.

Who makes the best NEIPA in lexington?

Last time I had any was christmas while I was home and I thought fadtastic was best. Havent had mo beam but thought lo beam was the worst. Hazy but lazy was closer to lo beam than fadtastic imo.

Honestly, it's still tough to say because every brewery is still experiencing batch variance in their NEIPAs. The last batch of canned Low Beam was great, though I hated every batch prior. Mo Beam is hit and miss. Even Fadtastic varies. Mirror Twin's stuff is always solid, but there's not one beer of theirs that stands out above all the others.

Oh, and if Double Kick Drum at Rock House is on tap, get that. It's a big, meaty NEIIPA that's unlike any of the other haze around here.

Not familiar with Rock House, is this a new brewery?

Not a local thing, but anyone have any ideas as to when Oktoberfests will start showing up in KY?

Coming down to Benton, IL this weekend from Iowa. Wondering if the extra hour drive to Paducah is worth it for bottle shops? Looking for bearded iris but also open to other options not in Iowa (abv limit is 15% in Iowa so things like the bruery don’t come to us). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have very limited experience in Paducah but would direct you to Roof Brothers on Park Ave if you do go. They should have bearded iris (probably only homestyle) and a very small chance they have goodies stashed in the back. I would be more inclined to tell you to explore Illinois shops or St Louis shops over Paducah, especially because Bearded Iris is easy to trade for.

Thanks for the suggestion. Wasn’t sure if Paducah was big enough to have decent selection or not. Definitely going to stop in STL and may pass on the extra drive to KY

I think you'd be disappointed. There's not much at all that KY gets that IL/MO don't get. Only Homestyle from BI is on shelves these days, that isn't worth the drive, in my opinion
