Upstate vs Western New York, I think Rochester is WNY. I think once folks start calling soda pop then you're in WNY.

 

Anything north of 14th Street in Manhattan is "Upstate" in my books.

 

My friend who lives in yonkers gets mad when I say he lives upstate.

 

I always thought Lombardy st (behind the meeker ave McDonald’s) would have been an awesome location for a second brewery

 

I’d wager that if the branded the non DDH “OG,” they would sell plenty.

Nick Tahou's is one of the only things I miss from my time at U of R.

Mustard comes on McDonalds burgers by default in Rochester and I'm assuming the surrounding area. You have been warned.

 

Cabbage was a top 2 OH beer for me last year. I haven’t had it since last August. Can’t wait to try this batch and would love to hear reports back.

 

I grew up in Ossining & Brewster... Yes Brooklyn/Queens natives call Yonkers upstate but they are now joined by invader enemies who moved here from Indiana who think like them, hahaha... LI people think they're more legit because they took LIR into the city vs the MNR or Path though would shit themselves if they found themselves in Mount Vernon.

All I know is I get made fun of when I say water with a New York accent or say I'm gonna get online to wait to buy something, so it means Brooklyn is now upstate.

 

Gonna guess politics makes NJ or anyother state a huge pain in the ass, if you can sell all the beer you make without getting other political state involved you go that route.

TLDR: OH is planning on making a big investment to develop the Rochester property, they hope to purchase 4 adjacent acres, they plan to add some buildings and sour / barrel aging capabilities, and Brooklyn is getting a new 30 bbl brewhouse in the fall.

 

Amid all the awesome news about the upstate location (which sounds like it’s going to be really amazing) is the fact that they are doubling their brewing capacity in Brooklyn. Yes. Oh yes.

 

Plus sounds like we dodged a bullet in terms of the original plan of having a permanent WNY outpost selling Brooklyn-brewed beer vs an actual brewery

 

The article linked makes it sound as though they are following the Charlton plan.

 

Seems like their goal of becoming “the other half” of the brewing industry along side the big boys is going according to plan.

I posted a q about this last week but got crickets. And the article mentions a corporate restructure. But I wonder what the ownership looks like

 

Article appears to indicate OH borrowed money? I wonder if that was for equity. That being said, shouldn't they have a significant amount of capital from sales? I would not be surprised if recent expansion was costly, but they are literally printing money...
