I'm going to be rolling through Asheville this Saturday night on the way to a time share. I need to pick up a fair amount of beer for myself and some others for a week. I plan to stop at Bruisin Ales for some but also wanted to hit a brewery or two for cans/bottles to go. I am not familiar with which breweries tend to always have stuff to go. Anyone familiar with the breweries down there know which ones I should hit on a Saturday night? I am particularly interested in Burial but don't know if they typically have cans to go.

    Thanks!

Burial's site is usually accurate. Here you go. Just look under the cans and bottles section.

Other's will depend on the brewery.

I would go to App Vintner over Bruisin Ales.

I think App Vintner has the best selection in town. Would definitely go there before any other bottle shop.

And if you have a Go Local card you get 5% off purchases.

Hi-Wire Big top has a cooler full of their canned brews, and a number of their sours bottles.

If you don't mind supporting InBev, Wicked Weed has to-go retail space at their original location.

App Vintner x100. They always have the best taplist in town too.

I'm heading to Asheville as well in a few weeks for 2.5 days and figure to hit App Vinter as my first stop in town to see what all local stuff they carry and what I plan to bring home, then if some of the beers/breweries that I'm really interested in aren't stocked there, those will be my short list of brewery stops. Better that way to be most time efficient. Plus I'm a real light weight (like 2-3 beers a day max) so doing brewery crawls are not on the itinerary and out of the question.

I am coming in from the north down Rt. 26 into Asheville so I do plan to hit both the "Z" breweries on the ride in before arrival (just for time efficiency...if your driving past them why not stop vs. making special trip there). Guessing neither of those 2 put bottles in the App Vinter store?

You will find Zebulon in app vintner. Not sure what is available right now. The brewery usually has things around longer than the local shops.

Zillicoah has only had one bottle release and one can release, if I remember right. Both are worth stopping out. Zebulon does 2oz pours of everything. Just be aware Zebulon is only open two days a week.
