    Hey NBS, and good evening!

I'm slipping in here at the last minute, so I'll make this as quick as I am capable of - which will probably still be TL;DR.

I've had a pretty busy week - work has been hectic (fiscal quarter end activities), and I spent the tail end of the week driving up to my dad's place (3.5 hours away, in northern Minnesota - near Walker, for reference) and helping him get started with siding on his house. This house project has been in progress for about two years now - there have been so many setbacks it's unreal. My grandmother died a little more than two years ago, so we had to stop work and help with the estate and burial and everything... it was a hard few weeks. Then my dad tore his rotator cuff and bicep and was out of commission for about six months. Then my grandfather died - this was an even harder death, because we had to clean out the house and make repairs and sell the place. Then my dad tore his hamstring. It has been a rough couple of years - but we've finally made it to some finishing work. Here are a couple pictures of the house and all of the siding we worked on this weekend.

I honestly don't know much at all about siding - but, I guess you're supposed to start with the lowest point (which isn't difficult to find on this place - it's on a steep, steep hill). We got four exterior walls a fair ways along before I had to drive home to do some laundry before work starts. As you can see, the place is actually a dome house, with a goofy little extension. My dad had a weird footprint to build on, so he made the most of the space. I wish he had just built a fucking one story ranch house; this place has been one challenge after another. He was dead set on the dome place though. Crazy, man.

But, it's coming along. I'm feeling pretty deaf from cutting steel siding all weekend, and my hands are full of metal splinters, but... hey - progress. And, I didn't have time to spend all weekend drinking, so... I guess that's a positive?

I've been home for about an hour now and dug this beer out just for NBS - I believe this was a gift from @Dragginballs76 and a damn good one, too. I can't believe how this one gushed though - foam poured out of this can for a good five minutes straight. It's stunningly tart and sour, even being a berliner weisse - the raspberry is just nutso - delicious beer, Mike. Thanks again!

I think this is only my second from Heist, so it's practically a new brewery tick, too. I've been craving sours all weekend long, working out in the hot sun - this was the perfect beer to come home to. Now if only I'd had some tacos ready and waiting as well...

Anyway. Cheers, NBS - hope everyone has a great week!

Yeah, for me that was the only redeeming quality of his approach. I too was known for the occasional bong...Actually I made one, we named Dio (yes, I was very into metal), that held little over 24 oz. Upon Dio's demise, we made Dio 2, he came in at over 36oz. But ours was just gravity. I give props for the tube usage, albeit a douche.

Damn Dude. You're a trooper. Sounds like you are a good man, who does right by his old man, who also sounds like a good man. I wish you success in finishing, and many beers to come.

Hello late night NBS! Had to work 7 days this week and finally getting home to crack open a cold one. Made the trip into the city to pick up a stout that Orpheus released yesterday and grabbed a mixed six of their other stuff while I was there.

    Over and Over
Pours a hazy golden color with minimal head.
Light fruit notes in the smell, tart, some funk.
Fruit not really showing up in the taste initially. The tart and light funk. Pineapple does linger after the pucker fades.
    Medium bodied lively carbonation.
This would be a nice refreshing summer beer at 4%.

Beer number two from Orpheus, Over and Over and Over. A sour ale with pineapple, passion fruit, and vanilla that clocks in at 7%.

Pours a golden yellow with two fingers white head.
Pineapple and a salty tart on the nose.
Ripe pineapple, acidic tartness, funk, a touch of vanilla.
Light to medium body, ample carb levels.
Overall a solid sour that I would drink again.

Another late night participant joining up here...
I had intended to join much earlier in the day.... but it didn't work out that way. The day has been spent on three primary endeavours:
1: putting together this damn pie (you'll see below)
    2: starting packing
and 3: still trying to find a damn place to live. By next week. v;kfjvdksjhvkldsfsskjldfh

    Anyway.
I've been saving Pi, from Propolis out in Pt Townsend for some time, with the specific intention of pairing it with a strawberry rhubarb pie. Well, rhubarb finally showed up at the grocery store, and a buddy of mine at work gave me a bunch of strawberries he'd picked down South Sound which are reportedly incredible strawberries, so... the time seemed ripe. It's not my best pie (I choose to blame the fact that it is ungodly hot in Seattle currently, and so the butter was melting as I tried to mix it in, even though it had been sitting in the freezer... then again when I tried to roll the crust out), but really it's probably more because I was distracted with the whole moving situation. Still don't like the heat though. Also figured I'd use up the last of the leftover cookie dough I had, and use the extra pie dough to make one last pair of peach dumplings. I have eaten literally nothing but baked sweets today, outside of a basic basic quesadilla I had for lunch. Sleep may be difficult :/

    Oh yeah, beer.

Pi pours a classic amber body with a decent little finger or so of head that doesn't truly stick around, but it doesn't totally disappear either.

Nose was nicely tart at the get go, but settled into kind of a dull farmhouse funk with only faint fleeting light strawberry juiciness at the edges. Still good, but I was looking for something more in line to pair with the pie.

Taste begins with some earthy tart notes, then a veneer of definite fresh strawberry goodness, then transitioning back through that dull tart farmyard (dull as in not sharp, not dull as in boring), and transmorphing it into a slightly more vinous tart flavour that is the rhubarb coming in for sure for sure. Swells into even more sour after the finish has set in, and lingers with that dull sour build. Definitely a lot going on throughout this one

Ultimately I dig it, even if it did leave me wanting a little bit.... (I feel similarly about the pie)

    They did go well together.

    Cheers all!!

Last one for the night, Ye Who Enter Here, an impy stout with coffee, chilies, and vanilla aged 26 months in bourbon barrels.

Pours a thick black with a thin brown head.
Smells of dark roast malts, coffee, dark fruits, and bourbon. As it warmed it began to get some toffee notes as well.
Taste follows, dark roast coffee and malts, dark fruits, oaky barrel. A bit sweet in the finish, the peppers leave a mild heat.
Full bodied, a swirl in the glass shows that this one has legs, I thought I emptied the glass several times to find there was one more sip to be had.
Overall a tasty stout with a thick feel. The 14% is pretty well hidden.

Had a few other friends that have held onto cans of this and they did the same thing. Something must have happened over time since I had 3 cans that did not do it (one friend had several that did not and then one a few weeks ago that did). Glad you still enjoyed it!!
