I am spending 1 day/night in either St. Pete Beach or Clearwater Beach. Any decent bar/restaurants with a decent craft selection in either? Also flying out of Tampa a couple days later so looking for a good sports bar type place near Tampa Airport with a decent lineup. I am of course going to visit CCB while I am there but any help with a decent restaurant/bar in any or all of the above is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Pegs Cantina in Gulfport, sometimes they have Funky Buddha on draft. Not too far from St. Pete Beach.

If you go to Clearwater, go to 7venth Sun brewery, very small operation but very well made beers.

Which airline are you on? If you are on Southwest or AirTran then CCB has a pub in that terminal....

I second Seventh Sun. Went there for the first time last weekend and they have some great brews. If you like IPA's they have a really great IPA.

Seventh sun and Dunedin brewery in the Dunedin/Clearwater area are in walking distance of each other. Willard's tap house, which is my favorite, in largo. The ale and the witch in downtown st pete. Pegs cantina is great, and serves food, but pricey for food though. Willard's and ale and the witch you can bring your own food to though, so stop somewhere and pick it up and eat that there. We usually order pizza from the pizza place next to Willard's and they will deliver it over to us.

We are flying JetBlue. I greatly appreciate all the suggestions. Are any of the places mentioned in walking distance from the Clearwater Beach Hotels (Hilton) or St. Pete Beach (Don Casear)?

If you're staying on St. Pete Beach, you really shouldn't miss Peg's. A previous post mentioned going there to drink another breweries beers, but you should know that Peg's makes outstanding beers. Fantastic beer in a great setting - you can't go wrong!!!!

It's been a while since I drank at a bar on St. Pete Beach, but in the past The Undertow has had the best craft selection. Just so you know it's illegal to have open containers on St. Pete Beach so I would recommend jai alai cans poured into cups. Personally I've never had an issue drinking on the beach, but it is something to be aware of.

Funny but just got back from Clearwater Beach and you couldn't be more right. Every bar I went into had the same exact things on tap. I did find 2 places though on Clearwater beach that had a few decent offerings (CCB, Sweetwater, DFH).
Unfortunately i found these 2 places after suffering through a few Shock Tops at Frenchys but Mandalay Grill and Cork N Brew are 2 places on the beach you can get a few decent options.
