They usually don't post the on-site bottle or draft list anywhere. You might be able to find someone who's going out there to snap a pic for you. Or you could try calling. But rest assured, the bottle list will be good.

Are you looking for the bottle list they have for on site consumption only? If so, to the best of my knowledge that's only kept in paper form in the tasting room. It changes too frequently I believe for them to post something on line.

Gotcha--Thanks folks. I'm sure whatever they'll have there on August 9th will be an excellent treat for me and my better half. If any BAs will be there that Thursday, please drop a message so I can say a proper hello.

I just looked at their site, and they had last weeks list posted. As I have family that will be passing through Tmook Saturday, I'm looking for this weeks availability.

Weird, there isn't a thread for dG or anything?

I just wanna know, why did Elements of Composition (or as it has become to be known, EoC), blow up suddenly this year, particularly over the past week or two? Last year it was just another collab with minimal fanfare...

This is the de facto deGarde thread. It seems to a slow clam gunning season, and the cows are fairly docile, so the thread has been pretty quiet.

It was a pretty big deal when batch 1 was released early last year. But batch 2 was released (at least at de Garde) last weekend, so I'd imagine that explains the "blowing up" in the last couple of weeks.

Batch 2 is excellent, by the way.

Also relevant to visiting Tillamook -- if you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend checking to see if the Olympia Oyster pop-up at Nevør Shellfish Farm in Netarts is open . Stopped in Sunday and ate a couple dozen Netarts Bay oysters while sitting about 50 yards from Netarts Bay. And they sell de Garde bottles for on-site consumption. Fucking glorious.

In fairness, I'm not sure what other sort of answer you would expect. Unless you're really into the trading game, all that most of us know about dG is that they make great beer, mostly consisting of fruited sours and farmhouse ales. Some seem to be more popular and/or desirable than others, either because they're better made, are made in more limited amounts, are only available to club members, have more exotic ingredients, and so on.

I haven't tried the beer, and have only seen it mentioned on the trading forums. I would assume the comments from @LockeNess33 and @guajolote are both accurate, but then you could say that about a lot of different dG beers. Why is one more desirable than another (as far as traders are concerned)? Taking into account the criteria I listed above, your guess is as good as mine.

I actually expect nothing less but a response like that from @LockeNess33 when I venture into the NW forum

And I was just dumbfounded by all the action on this particular bottle because I was following it last year and it wasn't nearly as hot. I remember thinking it was going to be due to its description and those involved, but it never really seemed to catch fire last year. Not sure what changed this year...

OK. When you come into a thread seemingly to just complain about the supposed trade value of a beer you can expect this type of response from those that don't care about such things. It was obviously all meant in jest.

For what it's worth, I'm not really in the know when it comes to what beers are 'hot' or if/when a certain beer might 'catch fire' as you say so perhaps we just don't speak the same language in that regard. This year's batch seems just as desirable as last years' from my perspective. I stand by my previous statement and hope you find whatever it is you're looking for.

    Ho. Lee. Shit.

These PNW threads used to be chock full of users with a good sense of humor.

You gave a short, arrogant answer, and I responded with a sarcastic, made up insult referencing the very intriguing post prior to it. Have a beer man!

I came in to complain? Complain?! I hope you're okay after that ordeal I put you through. Man I thought PNWers had more constitution than that.
Good lord, man, I was curious. I'm not looking for shit, not trying to trade for it. Was shocked last year when no one gave a shit about it, just as shocked this year that suddenly they do. The people trading for it have most likely never put this to their lips, so them "seeming to like the way it tastes" is a silly answer, and merits a silly response.

I don't remember all the details, but it seemed like batch 1 was released in a way to most favor locals vs. traders, something like having to visit the brewery and show ID to grab a ticket which would then allow you and only you to return to the brewery a week+ later and pickup your 1 bottle limit. That may not be completely accurate, but I think it was something that all but assured that even those from Portland would have to work harder than usual. It could be said that this could have made the trade value even more feisty, but if @Sabtos says that didn't happen, then I guess it worked to deflate the trade hype.

Sorry man, I really was just being a smartass and absolutely meant no offense. Don’t lump the whole region in with me though ... not everyone around here is an asshole.

I really do feel like my response answered your question though, at least somewhat. For batch 1 nobody had tried it before and therefore no reason to go crazy about it. Now I feel like there are enough people that tried the first batch and really enjoyed it and others saw that and now more people want to check it out. Just my opinion.

In any case, let me know when you’re in the area again (if I recall from another thread you enjoyed your last visit to the area and are looking forward to your next, but I could be mistaken and thinking of someone else) and if I still have my bottle I’d gladly crack it open with ya.
