Same opinion I have on piss. It's necessary, but I rather not drink it.

It's shite. Buy Pacifico if you want that type of beer.

Exactly. When in Baja del Sur, I only drink Pacifico. Even the locals don't drink Corona.

The messed up part is that it actually does. It's more of a mental and emotional pairing for me but I've always enjoyed a Corona at certain whole in the wall Mexican places back home.

I'm sorry, you missed the point. The point was that despite the marketing, despite the clear bottles, despite the cheap ingredients. When the experience that is real is combined with a satisfying beer, that beer, no matter what you think of it now, can be the best beer ever. At that time, I didn't want to be anywhere else or drinking any other beer. Plus i like their commercials

I would rather drink corona's than many of the big beers. Have had them at serveral events. (I throw out the lime) More of a high-life guy if I have to drink cheep.

Unless you have no money concerns, craft beer has yet to figure out budget restraints.

I would offer grolsch light as far worse than corona light. I'm sure it's close.

If its 110 degrees outside and I have to mow the lawn, ill squeez a lime into one and drink it down. It's crisp and refreshing if its at 32 degrees. It doesn't taste very good, but it does what it does. After I mow the lawn, ill savor some good stuff.

My view on it is this. It pretty much tastes like water when its at around 32 degrees and lower so its refreshing and gets you drunk. Pair that with the marketing and I see why so many people drink it. I know when I used to hate beer because all I knew was BMC, if I was on a friend's boat and there was no water I'd grab a corona and I actually didn't mind it as much as the other ones I had tried that actually tasted a tiny bit like beer.

I only drink it when eating Mexican food, and it usually accompanies it perfectly. The sweet and fruity corn taste of a Corona pairs very well with spicy beans, meat and cheese. I'll sometimes even shove the wedge of lemon/lime in there, depending whether or not I want some more fruity acidity with the dish.

But yeah, even without food I suppose I could quite easily down a few cold Coronas. It isn't that bad. It's bland and watery, but I actually prefer that to the exceedingly sweet taste of sugar fortification, corn and low-grade pilsner malt that you find in lots of cheap lagers.

Corona is the biggesting marketing success store I can even think of. It is a huge beer the world over, all because of the perceived perception it is a "premium product". It is genius that they could take something so cheap, and of such poor quality (corn syrup and chemicals... yum), and turn it into the juggernaught it is.

Outside of that, it is possibly one of the worst things to happen to craft beer in Australia, since it pulled everyone even further away from what beer actually is, and once again, proved that quality of a product means nothing to most people.

I'm pretty sure out of all the respected Mexican restaurants around these parts, none serve Corona.

Corona = blech. Corona light (w/lime) is actually tolerable (i.e. I'd drink it if given one). However, if I'm gonna drink a Mexican beer, it'd be Bohemia (genuinely pretty tasty) or Negra Modelo.

as someone said - it's got it's place.

it's also the only beer my father-in-law drinks so we almost always have it on have at my place. it's less than a $1 a bottle at costco. I buy a case 4 times a year to keep him happy.

I wouldn't buy it but I have no problem drinking one with a lime on a hot summer day.

I agree! However, would rather do this with a 'Gansett. In fact, I think anything I would ever do with a Corona, I'd rather do with a 'Gansett. Not like it costs more either.. Only thing you're missing is the clear bottle.

:slight_frown:Novices in my shop ask the same question:
"Excuse sell corona " or "sell Heineken"
    but this is the worst
"If you sell Heineken , I promise your shop full of my friend......"
I sell craft beer, do not look for BMC friends

Reading the earlier post about young Germans ordering corona I remember years ago being in Ireland and all the young Irish kids wearing American baseball hats and football Jerseys and ordering budweisers by the bucketful. And then they all ran to McDonald's for big Macs and chips. Image still a big part of macro beers
