New to Ohio (2018)

Rotating hop series every 3-4 months.

 

yep. Not 100% guaranteed that the malt profile will stay the same each volume, although we really like where it is now.....but the hop bill will definitely change with each volume/packaging change. It provides us with the opportunity to use and feature some new and experimental hops moving forward, and it keeps things exciting.

 

3-4 months-"ish". Vol 2 will start this week.

 

Will volume 1 return or will it be continually evolving?

 

As in it will hit distro later this week?

 

never say never, but there are no plans for a return at this time. This is why vol 2 exists, and 3, and 4. But time will tell i guess?

 

It sure as shit better.

 

What's the hop for vol. 2 @tcorder219 ?

 

There are several. However, Cashmere is featured prominently.

 

Just did my liquor store run, world wines in mentor has more than a few cases on the floor (minus one 6 pack after I left), will this need to move before stores get vol 2?

 

not the faintest idea. but I hope so. sort of defeats the purpose otherwise.

 

Looks like Vol 2 hit a few stores in Columbus...can't wait to try!

It would be cool to cycle back around to it at some point, but looking forward to all the variations. Especially a Simcoe forward.

 

This would surely elicit complaints from the beer nerds of not tasting the same or as good as the original batch. Because don't we all know the original batch always tastes the best .

 

Yeah dude, I think we'll totally reserve that right to revisit any of the volumes down the road. I'm sure everyone will have an opinion on their favorites, etc. Perhaps that's reason enough to bring a volume back for an encore. It may largely depend on hop availability, also. Some of the hop varieties in future volumes are still experimental and/or in very high demand. In that case, we may not be able to. It'll be fun regardless.

 

Vol 2 tastes completely different to my palate, almost reminds me of Gumballhead, a little wheat-like, but more subtle. Not sure if that's the Cashmere, but the hops also bring orange and strawberry, but it's still tangy with an appropriate bitterness, soft and super drinkable. It's pretty unique, and I think because of that I like it more than 1.

 

Love Gumballhead, so excited to try it.

On another note, and not New to Ohio at all, but the new Fat Heads... anyone get invited to the soft opening on Friday?
