    What he said.

But yeah I guess it was a little insensitive to do, I think more than anything it was rough because there was a lot of people that would have gone if they could have and those people are now disappointed.

Although, as of the last time the tasting room was open, there were still bottles left . . .

I'd expect these to be gone probably by Tuesday closing time I would say... seeing as how things are gradually starting to return to normal and the gas shortages seem to have eased a bit.

Gotta say.....all weather related catastrophes aside, it's quite remarkable that a CL release limited to 200 bottles has lasted this long.

Even with relatively easy access for the uber-locals (i.e. the river towns), that would have only been 100 people buying their full allotment.

Maybe its because none of their releases have been named Rosso, CdC, or Flaming Fury?

Seems like it's mostly because of the total lack of publicity.

It's not listed on any sign in the tasting room and they pull bottles from behind the counter, so the only ways you would know about it are (1) FB and (2) BA. The walk-in crowd isn't even going to know it's there.

I hung out for an hour or two on Saturday evening. During that time, the tasting room was busy, but I saw a grand total of three other people (one of whom had come with me) buy bottles.

Perhaps. Though, we should probably assume for the time being that we won't be seeing any of those beers again for the foreseeable future.

In the meantime, they've pretty much been killin' it with the BS Sour Cherry and Golden Sour releases. Both top-notch CL quality, IMO.

If anyone has an extra bottle I'd love to work out a trade, but I'd need you to ship ASAP as a large group of Chicagoland bas are planning on doing a barrel select tasting on Saturday.

Agreed. I kinda like that the CL beers have gone the way of the Allagash wilds.

Just got the email from CL about the release. A bit late?

It does give a bit more info on the beer:

"Our brown ale aged in french oak barrels with NY Cherries for 4 years"

4 years?!?!? So they've had this aging since just over a year after they opened?

I also found that interesting. Unless the email has a typo, it is 4 years.

Just wanted to know if we can confirm that these are the same beers? Not interested in flavor profile changes per se, more interested in knowing if this is a new vintage of the previously released barrel select cherry.

    Cheers!

    From my post on Thursday:
The new offering is a completely different beer, different base and different fruit.

Does anybody know if this is still available? I'm in Paramus for work and am thinking about running up.
