I was able to visit the new restaurant a few times when they were in soft opening mode.

Official opening is today, with the Chronicle article linked below. I was really impressed with the restaurant, maybe one of the best Reuben's I have had in town (house baked rye bread, house cured corned beef). Of coarse they have the 12 year round offerings available (I can drink Pub Crawl and 5 O'clock all day), two cask engines, a few BB and DR's on tap, and 4 tap room only beers. One was a spot on, supper clean West Coast style IPA that I really enjoyed called Citra-Odoos, another I had was the Palmer. Kind of an Arnold Palmer with alcohol, a 3.6 % ABV Berliner Weisse with lemon peal and black tea. I am not usually a fan of these kind of beer cocktails, but this was really good.

The build out is fantastic, one of the best outdoor areas you are going to find, with big fans and plenty of shade so even in this heat it is not over the top bad. Can't wait for cooler weather though. Inside is like a cathedral, with a ton of seats and nooks, each with their own commissioned art work. See picks in the article.

Anyway, thats all, just sharing. I think this was really well done, and am going to be visiting a lot.

Been a long time waiting and I can say it was really worth it. Fantastic Beer Garden, a world-class setup. I really enjoyed the exclusives that were available at opening. I will certainly be returning regularly and look forward to try the Restaurant next.

We hit it up on Sunday, sweated my MF ass off. But enjoyed it, didn't try any of the specials, but the Citra... whatever was pretty solid, loved the Palmer, went down so good with the heat. Look forward to going back when it chills out to around 85 vs 100+

Definitely a great spot. Food was delicious. Can't wait for it to cool down here in Houston, so I can enjoy it more. Sweating profusely while eating gets rough.

If only they had an air conditioned indoor area...

I get it. My preference is to enjoy sitting outside, enjoying the view, play bags and drink beer. I could go to any bar if I just wanted to sit inside. I realistically know the window for patio drinking is small here in Houston.

Well or large window if you just decide to sweat your ass off, which I tend to do a lot. It cracks me up how many places we have with patio's outside that are pretty well used this time of year. "But it is a wet heat, it isn't that bad"....

It was actually a few weekends ago had some people over and I hung out by the pool with them from about 11 to 4 pm and never once thought it was that hot. Went to a bar that night that had AC issues and was soaking wet within 5 minutes. I was sweating off the calories faster than I could drink them. We have such a love/hate relationship with July-Sept

I got to visit the new beer garden a few weeks ago & absolutely fell in love. It's just what SA needed. Awesome view of the city & great pizza too... Cheers! :beers::sunglasses:
