This. I haven't done Binny's since 2014. And last year I hit a flagship Jewel and another store and finished BF with two Props, two Reserves, and half a dozen each of Coffee and Northwoods (on top of my Prop Day bottles and my Black Wednesday bottles).

Kind of. Your original statement needs modified. If you mean "per allotment," then yes, but in absolute terms of what you can get per store - no. Several people (cannot recall who these people were) mentioned being able to go through lines at several stores more than once getting multiple props, Reserve, etc.

I think the 'flagship' Binny's tend to get the largest allotments by far. How it shakes out is obviously partially dependent upon how many people go to each place, so it's definitely a YMMW situation in terms of what will yield you the most beer.
I feel like this is kind of a cheap distinction to make. Going through a line more than once is usually against the store's rules, so is it really fair to hold this against Binny's? And even if it's not against the rules, it's difficult to scout locations based on which ones will allow you to double-dip (unless you know a guy).

I agree, @SeanBond , I am just saying that it isn't a cut and dry statement if you are interpreting it as two options: option A, - go to flagship Binny's only vs Option B - go to multiple small stores.

Yeah man, this past year has been wild from a BA stout perspective. A few years ago I sent my then-gf to grab a bottle of Parabola for me (they sold out before I got out of work), now these bad boys sit on shelves.

A year or two ago I felt compelled to stock up on BCBS Reg because I wouldn't have a chance later, and this past year it was an impulse buy.

If anyone hasn't seen the BA alert yet, now is your time to ask Josh Noel anything (well, if you have a premium membership, anyway ).

Yeah, it took me a second, too. At the top of the page there's a mention of it (needing Premium to ask a question). Whatever, I talk too much here as it is.

And no regular Barleywine, Wheatwine replacing it. Coffee Barleywine is new, and Midnight Orange is new.

Wow...this is interesting. The midnight orange sounds unique and I'm all in on a coffee barleywine. Glad they are pushing boundaries there but still releasing some of the OGs majority of us clamored for......bramble and vanilla. Lineup looks great and the fact they are doing 8 is amazing but also damaging to my wallet and potentially my relationship with my fiancee lol.

Line up is pretty sweet. Really happy with it. EXCEPT for the fact that there is no coffee. I mean what the actual fuck.

I'm not a big coffee stout guy, but that coffee barleywine makes a lot of sense to me. That could work.

I know a lot of you (including me) were intrigued by the horchata and Neapolitan. But would you rather those two or bramble and vanilla? I'd take the latter two 10 times out of 10. Given the feedback from the masses over the years I would think majority would agree. I would prefer a straight up coffee variant for sure but you know what.....what if the coffee barleywine is a hit? Same with the midnight orange? Pushing boundaries is a plus for me. Cant please everyone. The fact they are releasing 8 this year is a win in of itself.

Very excited about Coffee Barleywine, happy to see Bramble and . . . intrigued, I guess, by Midnight Orange. And while not exciting, Prop sounds solid at worst.

I'd rather have the Neapolitan over the Bramble, but not the Horchata over the Vanilla. Rather have the Horchata over the Orange though. Orange hasn't worked well in many BA stouts for me, but who knows with GI.

That said, regarding the lament over coffee, GI knows by now everyone buys their BCBS base just to French press it with stupid ingredients. /s Now they're making you do the work to make your own BCBCS :stuck_out_tongue:
