Anyone going to Windmill’s anniversary party today? I’ll be there around 3.

I visited Zorn Brew Works in Michigan City today. They only had 4 of their beers on tap because ... they ran out. But did have other craft options on tap. Zorn is not going to brew a beer to make people line up down the street. Their beer does not suck though. For history alone, it is a cool place to visit.

Side note: there were people drinking bottles of Bud and Bud Light at the bar. How does that happen at a craft brewery?

Stopped there three times last year on the way home from desirable options in Michigan (the last time only because somebody in our party had to pee and we were backroading cuz the Borman was fucked up). They never had any of their own stuff up. They only ever had some weak ass swill from Sun King and Oberon on their “craft” list. Given their proximity to Burn Em still sounds like a pass.

So being low on their own beer is a pretty regular occurance. More than a year into operations, that is very poor form. Especially since they have the money to run commercials on tv.

    ???????

I have never seen a commercial for a brewery. Is this common?

I posted in this thread on May 15, 2017 that Zorn had a commercial on CSN duting a White Sox game. I believe this is the commercial.

I have not seen the commercial since.

    Indianapolis people:

I am going to a concert tonight at Bankers Life, what's the closest best taplist?

The Tap Mass Ave (check their site) or Tomlinson Taproom in City Market (check their twitter).

Rebar is a pretty cool place and it's only a block away from Banker's Life. It's between Market and Washington St. on Delaware. Only have about a dozen taps but typically the selection is pretty good and what's cool is their taps are self serve. They give you a card that you swipe at the tap and pay by the oz. Food is pretty solid too.

Thanks, been to plenty of places down in Indy but can’t keep track of where they are in proximity to the venues. Appreciate it!

To lightly expand...The Tap will have a huge list but I don't recommend their beers (but they'll have about 50 guest taps, usually with a few gems). Tomlinson Taproom is 15 taps, always all Indiana beers, and usually a very solid selection.

The Tap & Tomlinson are great options.

Late night option would be Pearl Street Pizza. Not a great tap list but decent, and open late with pizza by the slice.

Yeah, my vote would be to drop 18th Street and replace it with Windmill.

St. John Malt Brothers is doing a collab with Crown Brewing. Mathematically speaking, adding two negative makes a bigger negative.

It could be fun to speculate on names.

Agree. I don’t like much at all about 18th’s new location & the beer selection anymore.

I’d rather see Windmill on the list. New Oberpfalz as a place to stop if visiting Floyd’s.

Also, I’d say Liquor Stop and Cask & Cellar vs telling someone to drive out to Merrillville for a bottle shop. There isn’t a reason to drive out toward Merrillville other than bottles. There is very little that isn’t sold by those two stores that Wise Guys would have.

Aaaand.... The beer list at Doc’s has declined, a lot. I could often pass on everything they have on tap these days. The list isn’t as well curated. I’d rather direct someone to Tomato Bar & the Whole Foods next to it. Still not a great selection but usually slightly better. Better food too.

Shit And Shittier? Shitty Times Two? Really Bad Shit 2018 Edition?

It would be even better if they got Byway involved.

Would we include the collab with Byway, “The Unholy Trinity”.
