There's Double Stack and there's everything else.

I had FOMaple or whatever it was called on a fresh pallet at about 8pm tonight and I also got zero maple. Zero. Not much vanilla either.

The standout tonight was POG Berliner :astonished:

Love FO, but man do I hate that they release it in the summer. The pours that we were served were practically room temperature. Felt like a sauna under the tents with all the people crowded around. Just like last year, even with it beings outdoors this time around, it was so damn hot you couldn't even enjoy the beer at all. Event was ran well though, as expected with the BL staff.

Top two variants by a mile were the hazelnut and mostra coffee variants. Coconut didn't do much for me and the maple wasn't very present. Regardless my GF and I enjoyed all FOb4 variants and the original. Arrived around 8:30 so no complaints about the heat. The entire space was well organized and I never waited more than a minute for a pour

My only frustration is the amount of inebriated patrons. In my 2 hour experience there were quite a bit. This isn't a complaint towards bottle logic but rather a major irk towards those that couldn't compose themselves. My girlfriend had one guy grab her arm as she was leaving and another try to get far too close. I've attended quite a few craft beer events with the few drunk idiots and but for some reason tonight they came out in force.

Idiot patrons aside the beers, staff, and the space were top notch. Thank you Lindsay and crew! I'm ecstatic to have an onslaught of FOb4 next week to drink during the BfA release. For the Alliance :grinning:

Another great event by bottle logic. The heat just made it not enjoyable. The water being hot was also not great. Wanted to hang out for a few hours but only was there about an hour and a half. The beers were great just not enjoyable with the heat. Fomo had tons of coffee, foco ton of coconut, maple was great but not much maple, nutella was ok with a ton of hazelnut, FO 18 was tasting great. Ton of chocolate not as much vanilla, Berlinear POG was delicious with the heat. Would love if this event was in the winter time.

I had a pretty good time. The first guy who poured me beers was rushing me and impatient then had a hard time remembering what i ordered so he slowed the line down considerably. First time I’ve ever experienced a dick from bottle logic. Never saw the guy before. I’m hoping he was hired just for the event because he wasn’t pleasant.
I did not enjoy the Nutella variant. Of the 4 people i was with with nobody wanted to touch it. Everything else was great. OG was flawless, FOMO is the best coffee stout ever, maple was hard to get maple but dope regardless. Fococo was mild but awesome.
$13 for 4 little chocolates seems really high. The sample I had was a good tasting chocolate but I would be lying if I told you I could taste any FO in there.

Yeah, same with the ice cream. Tasty, but no FO flavor. That is, until I dumped it in a nice mug of FOMO. Sweet but deadly.

Already happened earlier this year (or later last year?), someone traded an FOb3 for a bunch of the BL stickers. There’s value in everything, just takes finding the right person to make things happen.

Surprised nobody seems to be into the FundamapleObservEH?ion. I think the issue might be two fold. One, people are getting more exposure to DoubleStack from GN... which in my opinion is the equivalent to the SuperTroopers syrup chug. If you are into that, cool but a bit over the top for me. The other, is that this beer was described as a "Maple-Bar inspired riff", like the doughnut. I guess I went into it not expecting to be drowned in syrup but overall I thought it was great.

#3 - It was devoid of mapleness, far as I could tell. Had plenty of FO flavor, tho.

I imagine palette fatigue was playing a greater than usual role in people's tasting yesterday due to the unbearable heat... Everyone in my group liked the first variant they had the best, and then the rest they found lacking in flavor...

I get more maple out of Double Stack than I do out of Kirkland Signature Grade A Amber, and that's the good stuff.

I know, but Double Stack makes pancakes soggy.

    FOMO
    FO
    FOCOCO
    Fundamaple
    Tella

For me. I got a ton of maple in my Fundamaple, but didn't enjoy it all that much. Tella was almost oily to the point it felt unenjoyable.

This was my order too. I didn’t have a huge complaint about the Nutella though, but it did taste more nutty like Lost Colony than the hazelnut in something like Godhawks Grasp.

Swung by this evening for bottles. Surprised, but honestly FO lacked vanilla compared to previous batches. Was served cold, didn't change as it warmed up

Not worried since their bottles are generally better than on draft. Hopefully the trend continues!

Showed up for round 2 on Sunday @ 4. Weather was nice, small crowd and the star was still the salted caramel and FOMO soda.

    First time having FO

    My list would be
    FOMO
    FO
    Fundamaple
    Nutella
    FOCOCO

I don’t like coconut in general so take that with a grain of salt. Maple was there in fundamaple, but subtle. FOMO was absolutely amazing.

Felt it was really hard to rank for me. Since FOCOCO gave little coconut to me, it tasted sort of like FO (not a bad thing). Same goes to the maple variant. Just a slightly sweeter FO (not a bad thing). FOMO was definitely coffee forward, but sort of made me forget I was drinking FO. Mixed I know, but says to me that I ultimately just loved the FO. Wish I had tried some of the food/desserts. $$$ starts to rack up once you try the variants. Maybe they could consider some sort of flight in the future or at least offer some sort of system where you pre-pay for smaller pours. 5 variants.....$40 bucks....a little merch....if you had a dessert or something from the food truck....BOOM! $100 down. Doesn't even include the bottles you just spent $100 on.

Star of the show for me....the Tin Tacker! Who's with me?!

The thing about the smaller flights though is that they'd have so much more work. It didn't feel like it'd have been a bad idea on its face for this festival, but they basically took the Week of Logic...uhh...logic and did full pours because they can rack those up way faster and a few beers ahead, rather than trying to pour on order.

That being said....I wouldn't mind a variant that was like the salted caramel FO ice cream. I thought Tella was close, but the oiliness was a detractor. I should amend my previous statement above, the oiliness wasn't so bad that it was undrinkable, but there was definitely a lingering mouthfeel there that I wasn't enjoying all that much. I also feel bad that I didn't win the magnum. :|
