What beer are you drinking now? #2124

Good morning BA
I'm reviewing the 2nd highest rated Vienna lager on BA today...

Really nice beer here and IMO, the best mix pack SN has put out in years. More nightshifts loom ahead so I am out. Cheers all!

 

One of my favorite Sebago beers. I also like the 2 pack format.

 

I like Better Call Saul almost as much as I liked Breaking Bad. Interesting to watch Jimmy evolve into Saul.

 

Lots to do today. This is the first order of business.

 

Having a plain old Duvel. Still one of the best beers around.

Locally sourced . . .







Deep, rich gold color with white cap and lacing.

Mild aroma of sweet malt with just a bit of citrus.

Flavor of slightly sweet mild malt (honey comes to mind) with a nice rounded presentation. Hops comes across with a touch of citrus that is present without being outspoken. A bit shy really, like a well dressed jeune femme at a social function who is too shy to speak up. The flavors are not complex but they are pleasant, rich and very approachable.

Medium texture bordering on full.

This is a nice beer that should make friends wherever it goes. A mild match for a variety of food styles, the slight sweetness doesn't mar it in any way. Just a friendly face that mingles easily with the crowd without getting in anyone's way.

Dommelsch Pils. Pils is Dutch for Pilsner. But when you order a 'pils' in a bar or cafe around here you still just get a plain lager. Pils means just beer in many parts of the country.
