Yup, San Diego Wine & Beer Co got theirs in and had 1 left (out of a case I think) as of 30minutes ago. It is likely gone.

We started moving Fundamental Observation into distribution yesterday -- lots of accounts have started posting on Instagram in particular. Happy hunting!

Seen it hit a lot of accounts around here in the Anaheim area, even seen a couple stores with no limits and no additional purchases needed, but most are 1 per person. A lot more FO this year evidently.

at an eclipse party they had a coffee variant and vanilla varient. everyone was mixing the 2, the blend was fantastic! so much so the following year they released a coffee vanilla varient, i’m pretty sure it stemmed from the party the year before!

FO tacker. Sorry, no photo, but it’s essentially the “FO & Microscope,” but an enlarged version.

No, those sold out over the weekend ... they didn't really publicize their availability ... I heard there were only 100 made, no clue how accurate that is but could explain why they sold out immediately and were on the down low.

Anyone open up their bottles of FO? Curious how this batch (being the largest) compares to previous batches.

It's the worst batch by far. Hardly any vanilla at all. They need to chill with the massive over production and get back to focusing on quality

Edit: it's still a good beer but it's not even close to the previous batches

Huh, interesting. I opened a bottle on Saturday and thought it was fantastic. And I've had b2 and b3. I actually thought b4 was more impressive than I remember b2 being.

Neither of the previous batches were "rare". They were much better tho

If you haven't figured it out yet, B2 > B4 > B1 > B3 > B5 because FO tastes more vanilley-like on tap/in bottle when Bottle Logic releases 100k bottles, er, 40k bottles, I mean 15k bottles because madagascaritian vanilla beans are worth their weight in kopi turds.

I'll likely open a bottle this week. I remember being impressed at WOL, but not as impressed as I was at last year's.

I hate to be a downer, but no one has any actual idea how FOb4 compares to previous years in any objective sense. Our memories of the previous tastings are mostly confabulations created to validate the conclusions you wanted to get to anyways, and any attempt to compare batches in a vertical is going to be suspect ("is FOb3 tasting better than FOb4 because its a better beer, or because I prefer it with a year of age"). We really just can't compare beers across years with any solid basis. :slight_frown:

So the best we can do is evaluate the beer we have on hand. Tastes really good to me. *shrug*.
