Can someone please explain to me what there is to like about 3 Stars and why they're so often recommended? I got into it on Twitter the other day about this. Granted, I stopped buying their beers last year (because they're not good), but maybe something has changed?

No, their beer sucks except for Funkyard Dog. Actually enjoyed that one. They hang out with Other Half & LIC all the time, yet I'm baffled how none of that awesomeness has rubbed off on them.

I did in fact hit up church key and the place was awesome. Heading bsck today as the bar tender said he had some new veil to put on and he also gave me a can of Blue Miata to take home after chatting. I enjoyed visiting 3 stars and actually got a nice DM from them recommending some places. Might check out one in Baltimore now. Everyone has been real friendly like we are in Portsmouth. Appreciate all the help!

Hopefully a real shit show. They did a can release in Rochester to gauge interest prior to their announcement.
Maybe it means the DC branch is real possibility. One can only hope.

Wondering this myself. I was planning on showing up around 10am, but I think this may be too late especially since OH attracts the #linelife crowd. As of right now, limits are 3 4 packs or each beer per person. I have a feeling that those limits are going to drop. Kinda wish they just dropped it down to 1 per each beer to piss off all the traders that are going to show up.

Is there a consensus that people need to show up that early to have a shot at OH cans? I have no frame of reference for what kind of craziness their releases generate, but if it's like that, I won't even bother.

I was thinking about showing up 10:30-10:45. I'd be surprised to see a lot of traders there? I can't think many would go to a pop-up to pick up out of market cans to trade for other out of market cans, maybe I'm completely off base here though.

And I may be completely off base as well haha. How many Bruery members are there in DC? They can buy the stout, so I'm sure most of them show up. With the limits they have in place right now, 200 people will get beer assuming they get the full allotment.

I don't think everyone will buy the full allotment. I know three of us are going to go and hang out to just pick up a 4-pack or two between the three of us.

Just got an email from the Bruery that says, "Due to some limitations, we will not have a members-only line.". Pretty bummed they can't figure out how to handle 2 lines.

Evidently it was a stipulation by OH. They didn't want a VIP line for bruery members

Oh well, add it to the list of disappointments from my Bruery membership. I was pretty excited for this one, as I have loved almost all of OH's hoppy stuff. I wish The Bruery hadn't announced their made up members-only line and got me all pumped up, ha. I think that place is going to be a madhouse on Sat.

This will also be Saturday -

Think it will be mobbed? Worth stopping by? I've only had a couple Aslin stouts and they've been pretty great

Ahhh, nothing says stouts like 90+ degree temps in summer. I'd doubt it'd be too busy, but who knows. FWIW - IMO - the more "creative" the stout they produce, the more artificial it tastes. Cocoa Mapalm is a good one. The Thin Mint one was terrible. I stopped buying the ones that had tons of different additives.

I'm with you on that. I stopped buying the canned stouts after Genius Kitchen. Those crazy adjunct stouts they make are awful. I do like some of their BA stouts with minimal adjuncts though. IMO their best stout is West Chester.

Would guess 100 people or so in line for the other half release, 40 minutes to open

I thought Genius Kitchen was pretty good, actually ::ducks::

Buuuut it barely tasted like beer. I'd love to see a russian IMPERIAL stout (13%+) hopped into oblivion and thick like milkshake. That would piss off the masses but would actually be an interesting beer that hasn't been done a hundred times over. They can throw lactose in if the IBUs are still huge!

Anyone else go to this on Sat? Thought it was handled well. The two DIPA's they released are awesome. Mosaic Daydream is seriously like a Mosaic creamsicle, but the mouthfeel is not too thick like a lot of Aslin's beers. It has body, but it's clean & doesn't feel like your drinking a pound of yeast.

Didn't realize that the Bruery store carries Lost Abbey and Rare Barrel bottles. Will def be going back to that place.

I was there. I have a policy of not waiting in line for beer anymore, but considering it was in my neighborhood and I could bike over, I made an exception. Both OH beers are really good, but not worth waiting 1 hour in line for again.

It would be cool if they open a brewery in DC.
