Anybody know what was tapped at the Rare Beer event at the pop up other than Dark Lord?

Caveat is Founders is local to me. Your mileage may vary but the big players don't feel like craft to me anymore.

based on untapped check-ins, the list is quite underwhelming.

DL 2018, alpha klaus, and crack the skye are the only stouts/porters.

the rest are their staples which you can find at any decent craft beer shop.

I miss the $10 days but think $12 out the door at FFF is a great price. I also get Founders - $16.99 (pre-tax) for a case (24-can case) of Solid Gold Lager is a deal! And nice to have lagers around in summer.

Most of their double IPAs with no adjuncts are usually $11 plus tax for a 750ML (I think Special Sauce is $12). I'd much rather pay $18 for a 4-pack of 16oz cans and I think I'm far from alone in that.

By Brewers Association Definition they aren't craft since over 25% share of the company is owned by a macro...

You can define craft based on a group's definition based on independence, or you can define craft beer by the historical purpose behind craft beer's existence, the type of beer being made, and the historical significance of the company making it. Founders is craft and The BA can eat one.

FFF is still $3-4 higher than most everyone else. I can get a sixer of Revolution, Bells, Spiteful and Lagunitas at $9.99 all day, and many times even lower. And that’s just 6-packs. Once you get in to 4-pack tall boys, and it goes up exponentially.

I still love them, but they’re definitely priced at a premium.

    Nothing says craft like a 15 pack....

i think it’s some kind of event....although looks like it’s really just a special tapping, a special menu item (jalapeño brat) and a DJ set..

I would like to try Spaceforce but I bet the place will be slammed busy beyond recognition by 3-4PM with everyone waiting around for it to be tapped.

Especially with the clairvoyance they've displayed regarding the new Trump push. You might have people there that know absolutely nothing about DL.

agreed, and their standard beers are not worth the added cost IMO.

i'd compare them to Pipeworks pricing, and I would take PW all day, everyday

I prefer NvU to just about any beer in the country, but I think gumballhead is the absolute perfect beer for any occasion.

It’s super crushable, crisp, hoppy, clean and refreshing.

It’s just not very economical. For the price, I’ll go with Lil Sumpin’ Easy for close to the same price for twice the volume.

If gumballhead were ever to go the 12-pack route for a reasonable price, it would instantly become my most purchased beer.
