Throwing Shade is one one of my absolute favorites from NA.

@c64person that picture is causing excessive salivation and jealously.

Think it’s my highest rated NA one as well. Every batch I’ve had has been a homerun.

Just tried the DIPA Captain's hat from Trophy/ Wilmington BC and it blows most of them away in the NE. Great flavor and very smooth. I'll also add Wrightsville,Mad Mole, and Front street are also making good stuff.

Oof. Wish I could say I agree. Captains Hat is better than average for Trophy (credit to Wilmington for dragging their quality up I suppose) but to say it blows anything away from the Northeast is just silly.

I put most, not anything. It's much better then a lot of them we have up here.

Anywhere in Fayetteville to get good IPAs?

Heading to OBX from Philadelphia on Saturday. Anyone have good NC IPA suggestions that I may be able to get there?

Pretty impressed with this Hopfly Beach Beer session. About to give the Summer Crush a go.

    No.

Brewery-wise, at least. There are a couple Grapes & Hops bottleshops where you can pick up some good stuff. Bar-wise, there's a Carolina Ale House, World of Beer, and a Mac's Speed Shop in town.

If you're looking to visit a brewery, the closest good place for IPAs is Southern Pines. They've been doing some pretty decent NE-style IPAs recently. It is about an hour's drive from Fayetteville, but definitely worth it IMO if you have time. Southern Pines is the best place in that wide godless swath of land east of Charlotte, south of the Triangle, and west of the beach.

I grabbed three four packs on Monday, one beach beer, one summer crush, and one first priority. That beach beer session is great! Very impressive. Looking forward to seeing Hopfly grow in size and popularity.

Yeah the Summer Crush was definitely solid, but I’m going back for more of the Beach Beer, really liked that one. Let me know how First Priority is.

I planned on going to Tasty or Bhavana this weekend for...Bhavana beers to have at the pool. But y'all have me interested in the Beach Beer.

Just had Blurred Up from Heist at Ridgewood...actually my very first Heist beer. It’s friggin fantastic. Immediately feeling the need to take a little ride on the Heist train.

The Blurred series is probably better than the Citraquench'l series.

Blurred Up was actually my least favorite Heist beer (ipa-wise) I’ve had so far. That said, it was still good. Basically shows you how strong their haze game is.

But I like Citraquenchal, regular Blurred, and the newest NFC all more than it.

But yeah the hop lineup at Ridgewood right now is ridiculous. Basically a mini Burial takeover plus two Heist offerings, Pithy, and Mosaic Promise.

I had the NFC after the blurred up and I will agree with you. Much much better in terms of drinkability, mouthfeel, and after taste. Both had an amazing nose to them. Ridgewood is definitely on point lately.

Really dug an IPA I had at Steel String on Saturday, Dodging Lions. It had been a few years since I'd stopped by there, they seem to be getting better.
