Good morning BA, have a great Sunday. Not much going on, another normal Sunday with bottle returns, laundry, and a grocery run later on. Got plenty of new beer hauls the last few weekends, so I have a lot of reviewing to do. #7200 coming up in a couple days.

Fantastic DIPA. Amazing head retention and lasting thick lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, minimal hop astringency. Pretty aggressive, but easy drinking. Minimal warming 9.4%. Awesomely dank and vibrant Simcoe/Amarillo hop complexity; nice malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. Not as amazing as I remember when I first had it, but still really outstanding classic hopped DIPA. 3 months old and holding up amazingly. Will have to grab another pack.

Fantastic! Aromas and flavors of huge vanilla, cream, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, apricot, apple, rum, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of roast, coconut, butterscotch, and herbal/peppery/piney hops. Mild pine/herbal bitterness and rum/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight sticky hops, oak tannins, and increasing dryness. No cloying sweetness or tannic astringency. Dangerously smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 11%, zero rum barrel booze. Absolutely killer stuff, spot on English barleywine. Perfectly balanced vanilla, dark/bready malts, fruity yeast, and rum barrels. Never overwhelming on any aspect. Vanilla fits in perfectly with the barrel characteristics as expected. Hope they make another English Barleywine again next year in a different barrel, because they always nail them. My favorite style of all time. Will seek this out again if they are still in the wild.

    Mikkeller (NY) - Sally Blush

Best Berliner Weisse I've ever had. Not even close. Amazing balance, with fruit that does not taste processed and a mouthfeel that is smooth and silky.

Amazing as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; bready/grainy wheat/oat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank and juicy hops, with perfect malt balance. Never overly sweet/heavy, awesome soft mouthfeel. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. This is one of my top most purchased beers ever at the moment. It just doesn't get any better for the style vs availability. Every Old Nation NEIPA is the better than most anything else I've had in the state. I have every single currently available one in the fridge. Boss Tweed and Cart Horse will be back next week.

2017 is tasting amazing right now! Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light molasses and smoke. Very mild roasted bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Mild stickiness, chalky roast, oak tannins, and dryness. Minimal warming 11.8%, zero booze. Unbelievably smooth. Definitely better than it was fresh right now. Everything is perfectly balanced, and more silky smooth on feel.

One of the few beers that I've purchased only by the six pack . . .

Deep copper gold color with white cap and lacing.

Distinctly citrus hop aroma that's fresh and bright.

Hop forward flavor on entry with enough rich malt to serve as support. I get a melange of citrus notes (brewer mentions candied orange peel and tangerine) that are so well blended together no single one stands out but the mix is quite pleasant. I do get a hint of orange in the finish but that may be the power of suggestion working on me.

This just has an absolutely fantastic balance to it, with an outstanding, subtle complexity. Very impressive Saison, quite possibly the best I've had.
