*sigh* _ thanks for the write-up gents, sounds a lot like my experience last year (which was fun) but the lines for _____ Benthic variants (pick any) were pretty damn long. I gave up after 3 waits. But Cinnamon Toast was DYNOMITE.
I'll put in a word with Gabriel that it HAS to be on the regular list. I'm sure he'll listen. Right?

Another great Big North for me.

Lines were definitely longer this year, particularly getting in and beer lines during the first hour. By halfway through, could step up to most stations for a beer with little/no wait. Love being able to wander between the facility, outdoor area, and tap room. Really enjoyed the last band.

Interesting to hear the different opinions on benthic variants. Found four and my ranking would go: 1) Peanut butter, 2) peppermint patty, 3) vanilla, 4) cinnamon toast crunch, which is apparently the exact opposite of others. They were all good - I think it just comes down to personal preferences.

Other standouts for me were Fully Saturated Double Daisy, Move Through the Hills like a Ghost, Orin, and Know Place. I thought they improved the Big North beer as well - the peach came through much more than I remembered.

That's my take, can't wait for next year!

That burger was straight trash. It was like those frozen patties you buy in Bulk at Costco. Very disappointing. Beer tasted great though. Lines sucked. Double Barrel was the best in show IMO

So was the Benthic from yesterday (and all variants) from the batch last November or is it a 2018 batch?

Had a great time, and the lines definitely improved as the night went on. It was pretty brutal until 6.30 though.

Peppermint patty benthic was great. The other benthic variants were just ok. Vanilla was a big “meh” from me. I vastly preferred regular.

BA Big Hugs was a definite winner though. That was excellent.

Didn’t see vanilla big hugs anywhere, and that was a bit of a disappointment.

It was at the Dark Matter tent with the other Hugs stuff when they opened.

Wait, they were pouring beer at that tent? No, kidding. I don't drink coffee so I didn't even bother walking anywhere near it.

Does anyone remember the name of the chocolate stout that they put on after Vanilla Benthic tapped? I meant to grab a picture but forgot to due to beer.

I didn't see that, but was it an Animal Print variant?

It may have been, I didn’t get any spices from it, just heavy milk chocolate. I know it was one of the hand written signs they put up.

Inquiring minds want to know - was there a free tattoo booth and did anyone in your party partake this year?

I missed last year because of a wedding. I missed this year because participants of said wedding, and my partner in crime up there, decided that it was a good time to go to Spain. There's always next year...

No tattoos this year, but there was axe throwing.

And tattoos weren't free last year, they were $20. I know this because my wife and I both thought it was a good idea to get one.
