Your sarcasm detector should have pegged when you read my post. You should get that checked out.

I won't argue that they CAN be, as I tend to evaluate people individually instead of making generalizations. Despite my very tongue in cheek response, of course.

Well, empirical research suggests that the problem is more likely to lie with your "sarcasm communicator" given how many people often assume others are able to read their intentions.

"Tongue in cheek" is not visible over the internet.

Then, of course, there's the "double secret sarcasm", which is really often the best joke of all. I get fooled all of the time and I keep learning. Claiming sarcasm can also be a feature of plausible deniability. It is a slippery slope, isn't it? I never take too much too seriously, unless the joke's on me! Just kidding,,,,,

Exactly. Whenever using the term one must muster Dean Wormer's intensity and forceful delivery. Otherwise it will not work. It is some serious shit.

English ales, bitters, pales, whatever you choose to call them, as well as mild ales, beg you to have several without feeling the need to change course. Very few beer styles can achieve that. A well made helles works for me sometimes, but it is nowhere near as enticing as the beers I have had in England.

I don't find sessionable IPAs to be particularly sessionable - but they are of session strength

There should be a seperate forum for glassware, there's my controversial opinion for the day. (I don't really care that much, so don't kill me on it. I just noticed there are 3 active glassware threads right now)

My local Kroger is remodeling and adding a bar called Kro-Bar inside the store. At least now I will have an excuse to have a drink before grocery shopping? Supposedly there will be a 3 drink limit so people can't get too drunk and it will focus on local beers. Anyway, I guess my controversial opinion is that a grocery store isn't an ideal place for a bar. Obviously I will still drink there if they have good beers but the whole thing just seems strange to me.

I guess buzzed grocery shopping is the future - the Whole Foods that just opened late last year by me has a built-in burger joint and a bar with draft craft beers, kombucha, and ciders. It doesn't help with the chore of grocery shopping in general but it does help you care a bit less about the exorbitant prices.

Many Market Districts (grocery stores in SW PA) have bars in them. Never gotten drunk and then shopped for food, but it's nice to know that it's an option.
