What kind of beers would you assume the guest will be pouring, the good stuff or standard offerings? I’d be shitty of tired hands brings the likes of Hop Hands and not something more sought after like a milkshake...

Even if these breweries bring their standard offerings I would be happy.
That line up is outrageous and I wouldn't be surprised if tickets sell out immediately.
and I mean, Monkish doesn't even have a 'standard' offering.

I think the price will keep it from selling out immediately, but I'm proven wrong time and time again.

And you're right that a lot of these breweries don't have "standard" offerings. My guess is it will be some great beer.

I'm personally just hoping for a good variety of styles. Obviously we're all hoping for someone to bring a world-class IPA that we can't get here, but at that time in October we're getting close to fall (temp-wise), so it would be nice to hop (no pun intended)from stout to lager to IPA, etc.

I think we'll be covered in a variety of styles. It may be IPA heavy, but I think we'll see stouts, sours, etc. With breweries like Side Project, J. Wakefield, Holy Mountain and others, we should get some variety. Even Monkish, Other Half, etc. do styles beyond their hyped IPAs.

I'm glad we get to debate whether or not a Half Acre beer festival is worth the money twice a year now.

Yeah, we have all the great breweries coming, everyone you could possibly want, but remember we put "subject to change" at the bottom so if it winds up just being local also-rans...

    I love the small print:
"PLEASE BE AWARE THAT BY ENTERING FAR & AWAY, YOU CONSENT TO YOUR VOICE, NAME, AND/OR LIKENESS BEING USED, WITHOUT COMPENSATION, IN FILMS AND TAPES FOR EXPLOITATION IN ANY AND ALL MEDIA, WHETHER NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER DEVISED, FOR ETERNITY, AND YOU RELEASE FAR & AWAY AND HALF ACRE BEER COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND LICENSEES FROM ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER OF ANY NATURE."

That's pretty intense disclaimer. I'd have to wonder if that would even be legally enforceable. I also wonder if it's just a troll on Half Acre's part, as they sometimes do stuff like that for a laugh.

This is the most standard disclaimer for filming I've ever seen. I'm willing to bet you've been subject to this disclaimer 2 dozen times in your life.

Good for the suburban train folks to be that much closer coming and going at least.

Benthic actually came out on Vet’s Day weeknd (Friday) last year. I remember as I was able to make it and it somehow snowed lol. To add on to your point which I agree with, I think Goose’s vicegrip on Black Friday isn’t a given in the future. Don’t get me wrong, they will sell out their variants and do very well. But, the local smaller breweries with huge followings around here don’t have to sit it out if they don’t want to.

Thanks for correcting me on Benthic release. I 100% remembered the snow, just not the exact date. I actually look forward to that day more than Black Friday as I seem to enjoy that more, while Black Friday seems like work.

I thought the second session would sell out by now. Kind of relieved that it hasn't as I continue to ponder whether I'm willing to pony up for it.

I bet tickets will stick around for a bit. It is an outdoor event so there are probably a lot more tickets available than we typically expect. 'A portion of proceeds will benefit music education for Chicago youth through Intonation Music Workshop' so that too will promote a higher number of tickets to be available. The fest will undoubtedly be crowded, but I still expect it to be a lot of fun and to try some beers I normally wouldn't get a chance to try.

$170 for two tickets for just beer? And this is the first time having it AND it's on a roof? So there will probably be issues getting people in since elevators are the limiting factor similar to when they had Fobab in a loft cutting into that 3.5 hour fest time. Think I'd rather just go out for a nice dinner at that price.
