Just as it was my personal beer mission to hound Sierra Nevada to make their kolsch again, we need to work together to ensure the return of Dunegrass. That was the beer that put Barrier on the map for me. It actually tastes something dank like actual dunegrass, no mushy fruity papaya notes here.

I feel like that Barrier yeast has become a little too familiar to me lately. It’s not bad beer by any stretch of the imagination but it seems to me, at least, that a lot of their IPAs have tasted the same to me.
I do hope Icculus makes it to distro though because I don’t feel like driving to Oceanside and want to see how the cans taste.

I’m feeling the same way. I don’t think the yeast they use is entirely in sync with IPAs.

The Hills Are Hoppier is hard work given the dank, citrusy, and cracker-y aroma: hints of pine, lemon, blueberry, and rose linger before opening to melon and the explosion of tangerine + Palate really resonates with the grassy, grapefruit-vine appeal, and the tangerine prevalence

…found this to be balanced and clean with creamy, juicy elements upon reposes = need to dive into/revisit Barriers portfolio

    Going to try this tonight.

I think Barrier has been listening to the consumers call for lower ABV beers during the summer months. Imposter, Icculus and now Simple in cans. All great prices too.

Is Earth a new brown ale from them? If it’s anything like Barnacle Brown ale, I’m in!

In my opinion Barnacle is so much better than Earth. I'm disappointed they canned this instead but I'd give it another try.

I think Earth came out on draft a little over a year ago. I give them credit for having 2 non adjunct laden brown ales in the rotation. No one else in the area would do that.

Small Craft Brewing in Amityville has had two brown ales on tap at the same time. They might be right up your alley. Usually has a nice variety of styles on tap.

Barrier has done two coconut-heavy IPAs and both are delicious, so, yeah. People do.

Coming up over Labor Day and haven't been to Barrier in over a year. How accurate is the can list on Barrier's website?

Pretty good. Their IG page is pretty much the same day though. Their cans usually last at least a few days if not more than a week.
