One of my favorite breweries. Hop masters. Easy to find and affordable. Not crazy about their regular regualr IPA or cappucino or imperial stouts, but they are still decent.

Oh man, how could I forget their "Czech" pils. Pedestrian...even by U.S. craft standards.

Not bad by any means, but I'm not a fan of the standard IPA, i'd much rather grab a sixer of Dogtown or Maximus.

I like Cappuccino Stout, but Imperial Stout is pretty mediocre. I wouldn't call it bad by any means, but it's not quite up to the standards of the rest of their line. I'm pretty meh on WTF and Hairy Eyeball as well, but that's probably just me.

There are several which I simply don't like. Lagunitas IPA and Dogtown Pale Ale really stick out as ones which I don't like at all. Undercover (etc.) is better but not much. The Pils is not good, either.

I would add that although I do really like some Lagunitas beers, to me almost all Lagunitas beers taste very similar, being simply slightly different variations on the same theme varying slightly in alcohol, color/type of malt, amount of bitterness or sweetness. The only exceptions of which I can think are stouts, logically.

+1. Thought whatever the 4.2% IPA (can't recall the exact name), was watery and crappy too.

I'd say not really. Their regular IPA has never impressed me at all, but maybe I always caught an old bottle or something because I find it odd a brewery that kills it with hops makes a bad regular IPA. Other than that, Hairy Eyeball isn't a memorable beer, but it's still good. Lagunitas basically does no wrong in my book and have always been one of my faves.

They brewed a beer called sucks, that didn't suck. That's as close to sucking as they have gotten in my opinion.

The general consensus does seem to be that they excel when it comes to the hops. For the other stuff, it can be more hit and miss. The Cappuccino Stout is easily the worst beer I've had from them and one of the worst coffee beers I've tried from any brewery. Little Sumpin' Sumpin' on the other hand, is freakin' delicious! Fresh New Dogtown as well.

Their IPA is an older recipe than modern IPA palates are used to. They keep brewing it because it sells so much, especially in California, where hordes of regular buyers have made it their go-to beer for years. I find their New Dogtown "pale ale" is closer to a modern IPA than their "IPA" is.

One thing I love about them is how so many of their beers are IPAs or really hoppy strong ales, and they always nail them perfectly.

Imperial Stout and Brown Shugga. Not bad beers, but sub-par. But that's just my opinion which isn't worth all that much...

New Dogtown is argueable the most under-rated craft brew widely available on the market IMHO

Lagunitas' various IPAs would be nuclear trade ammo if they were a really small brewery. They are that good.
