Good morning BA, have a great Sunday. Not much going on, another normal Sunday with bottle returns, laundry, and a grocery run later on.

Insane NEDIPA. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready wheat mouthfeel; light sticky sticky hops, slight resins. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Minimal warming 9.1%. Insanely drinkable, perfectly soft feel, never aggressive. Loved the hop bill. The Columbus, Centennial, Loral, Simcoe hops provide more dank/earthy complexity, and a touch more resin drying than Boss Tweed. Maybe not better than Boss, but super close. Insanely juicy and fairly dank hop complexity; with perfect wheat/oat malt balance. Never overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Only have a couple more left, but Boss Tweed will be back really soon.

Fantastic! Glad I was able to find a couple more singles recently. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, and tobacco. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warmed. Mild roast/char bitterness and rye whiskey/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight slickness, stickiness, chalky roast, whiskey/oak tannins, and increasing dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 12.6%, with a touch of barrel booze lingering after the finish. Amazing balance of rich malts and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with amazing barrel integration. Not overly boozy/drying. Look forward to the return later this year. Definitely better with age. Super silky/soft feel with mellower tannins now, than when fresh.

A relatively new discovery. Melodic death metal with Folk influences.

    I'm having this somewhat intimidating creature . . .

Lightly hazy deep gold color with good cap and lacing.

Aroma of clean, zesty citrus hops with a somewhat mild yet strongly present malt base. A touch of yeastiness gives the malt away.

Taste is surprisingly mild yet exceedingly rich. Hops forward, of course, yet malt establishes a presence that it maintains throughout. There is an overriding hop presence that reminds me of grapefruit yet it's the fruit itself, not the zest or essential oils. Hops and malt are well blended to a whole that only gives up a bit of bitterness in the finish. Not a single thing out of place here.

Fantastic TIPA! Aromas and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, orange juice pulp, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate honey, wheat, toasted biscuit malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malt mouthfeel, with slight sticky hops. Slightly increasing lingering bitter and spicy alcohol dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 12%, touch of booze well after the finish. Dangerously smooth, awesome soft feel for the style. Definitely probably Centennial, Cascade, Citra, and Amarillo. Insanely juicy/pulpy hops; awesome malt balance, not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. They almost always nail these hop series NEIPAs.

Insane stuff as usual this year! Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge brownie, vanilla, cinnamon, chili pepper, smoke, toasted dark bread, and light dark fruit/char; with some herbal spice earthiness. Bittersweet roast/spice balanced finish. Medium carbonation and very full body; with an amazing creamy, silky, velvety mouthfeel; with light touches of sticky spice, chalky roast, and slickness. Minimal dryness, no cloying sweetness. Minimal warming 13%. Minimal lingering pepper spice heat, but really great flavor presence. Very rich/decadent, with spot on balance of spices. This has a thicker/fuller body and better mouthfeel than regular Bomb!, which makes this just a bit better overall for me; but I always love both. Glad they keep bringing it back. I always buy a handful every year now.

A spectacular Oude Gueuze. Dry and funky with sour peach and overripe pear notes. Leathery grape must and wet hay. Enjoying every sip! Working on some notes for NBS...

A: The beer pours with a translucent, golden straw color. A slight haze to the beer. A fluffy, bone white head that juts out atop the edge of this Pilsner Glass like a snow capped mountain peak. Tons of lacing. Minimal amount of visible carbonation.

S: Slightly skunky. Grassy. A cooked grain aroma reminiscent of the aroma that hits you when you walk into a brewery.

T: The flavor of this lager is very mild. There’s a mild crackery element. I feel like it wants to be bitter but it’s not. It’s a little grassy and slightly dry on the finish.

    M: Smooth and low carbonation.

D: I was not a big fan of this beer. I feel like it was a bit stuck in the middle of a session IPA and a pilsener. Not much of a need for this beer for me. However, I think that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be. So, there’s nothing wrong with it and I would say it is a drinkable beer if you’re looking for something low ABV with more character than an American adjunct lager and more along the lines of a pilsner.

[IMG] This is a solid example from Harpoon and as you would expect a very reasonable price. Heading out on the lake with friends, who also dig great beer. Perfect Sunday before they head back to school tomorrow.

Is that a new label? Interesting that they made the “grapefruit” less prominent. But the “IPA” is more prominent, so maybe that explains it?
