Founders - Curmudgeon's Better Half (2018)

I'm only going to buy it if I can get a single because I don't like super sweet beers, and I have a feeling this one could easily be too sweet for my liking. I am definitely looking forward to marking it off the list though.

 

Had this one years ago and it was delicious. Can't wait for 4 packs. I will snag 1 for now and hold onto the other for later. Hopefully BA Imp stout is the next BA release as the last few have been a miss for me.

 

Bought a 4/pack at Founders on Friday, 3 gone so far. Really solid, not mind blowing but definitely a nice change from IPA’s and pastry stouts. Will definitely be buying another half case to mix in for the next 6 months.

 

I regrettably missed this the first time. I will not be making the same mistake twice. The base beer is great and this sounds as though it will be phenomenal.

 

I will probably pass on this one. While normally promise of a new experience will jolt me into a purchase, I'm growing less interested in sweetness in a heavy brew.

 

I had Better Half at Founders tonight. I've been waiting for this beer for over 5 years and it met my wild expectations. I don't know if I can drink an entire 12 ounce bottle by myself though.

 

Since this has already dropped in Michigan how limited was it there?

 

I see that Better Half is available in bombers, but who buys bombers of high ABV beers when it's available in more reasonable 12oz doses? Or did they export the bombers to make things even after the CBS release which we got as bomber-only?

 

The bombers are an attractive size for gifts. I’m taking them to family reunions on Thanksgiving and Christmas. But that’s it for me. I love this beer and love having it in 4-packs.

 

I'm getting a case of 4 packs if at all possible.

 

Pretty sure there will be plenty, stacks at most places that got it so far, no limits. The sign at the brewery said “limit 10 cases” which made me laugh.

 

Just dropped in Minnesota. Excited to try this beer out so got to get me a 4-pack or two to enjoy this weekend!

 

Any sightings of this on the east coast yet?

I’m predicting BA FIS. I can’t believe there are that many maple barrels available to make CBS right after CBH.

I made the irresponsible decision and bought a four pack instead of a single. Guess I'll find out if it lives up to the hype this weekend.

 

Hey, I’d prefer CBS too, but with Better Half available, I’m not complaining. Enjoying the moment.

 

It hit Hunterdon's distribution footprint this week in NJ. This beer is fantastic.
