Anita Amber is a Vienna Lager that I enjoy.

We get Brooklyn Lager (well, we used to, I haven't looked in awhile, might have been replaced by some IPA).

I haven't had it in quite some time, but it's definitely more Vienna lager than Boston Lager.

Abita Amber we used to get too, but this one is more Boston Lager than Vienna, just based on looking at the ingredient list. In my opinion at least.

Based on that diagram this is probably why their Octoberfest tastes like a slightly "amped up" Boston Lager to me.

Are you referencing my earlier post? If so, re-read it. I said that the only person I know that actually enjoys SN is a BA member that I also know in person. Tons of people on here do like SN, but noone else I know in person does enjoy it like us besides said BA member. That's why I think it would fail.

Loving the SN Vienna Lager, Ruthless Rye (always a favorite), and Tumbler. Torpedo is great, of course, but they should have included something else in the mix pack. Pretty lazy.

Been enjoying this one. It's been a while since I've had Torpedo, but it seems pretty heavy for a single IPA.

If I recall correctly when they first released it they said it was a 'tweener IPA/double IPA.

This pack seems to have escaped me so far. However, since I live in the city now, I've also found that twelve packs seem to be more difficult to find for any beer. I suppose that is because they're not as easy to stock in stores and bring back home as six-packs are.

It's smart marketing. It gets people to try/try again one of their most important SKUs, and it pushes the numbers on said SKU. It's not lazy at all. It actually makes a ton of sense.

Yeah, fair point. I'm just griping because I'm burned out on Torpedo.

I understand that sentiment. I would've preferred Oktoberfest being in there personally. At least they switched out SNPA, though (not that I mind that either because SNPA is great, but change in that "mainstay" that's in every pack can be nice once in a while; maybe they should try Hop Hunter in one of these?).

Why are you burned out on Torpedo? Buying it a lot?

Everyone is free to use whatever criteria they like for their opinions, but, based on facts, Sierra Nevada is a "Million Barrel" brewing company - an annual barrelage that less than ½ of 1% of all US brewers, past and present, have ever produced.

Sierra Nevada is the only post-craft era brewery to reach that level of sales by brewing it's own beer (Boston Beer Co. hit a million bbl. previous to SN by contracting with, and later buying, pre-craft era macro-sized breweries).

Now, I also don't "know in person" any Sierra Nevada consumers (or any craft drinkers in general - I'm anti-social. Sure, I've seen 'em at bars and at liquor stores but just never felt the need to introduce myself  If I did, I probably wouldn't get around to asking them if the "enjoy" the brand they've bought) but I don't find that a particularly important standard when researching or examining the US brewing industry.

I read that three times and it's confusing. When you say "enjoy it like us" why do you distinguish a particular BA member as separate from "us"? I like SNPA, but I really like being able to buy a high quality fresh beer everyday for $12.99 a 12-pack...
