I'm generally not a fan of them, a bit thick for my tastes, but who knows they may grow on me if I keep trying. That said, I would be happy to have Tired Hands takes on the style avail. in my fridge.

Dave, FWIW I have enjoyed the Tired Hands Milkshake beers I have consumed but for me they are 'one and done' type beers - I drink one can and I have no desire for a second can. But I did enjoy drinking that one can.

    Cheers!

I had a few milkshake IPAs gifted to me. None from the so called best producers of the style, but of the few I had, I am not a fan and won't seek them out any further. I am not a fan of the vanilla mixed in with the hops and bitterness. The best one I tried had tamed the vanilla enough where it almost tasted like just a fruited IPA. And i'm not a fan of fruited IPAs.

Being diabetic - milkshake hasn't been in my vocabulary for years - definitely wont pick up a beer shake.

Cherry Cheesecake Double IPA Milkshake? Why not just drink a wine cooler.

Not a fan of lactose sugar in anything. Not even because I’m diabetic...But how are they gonna do this and not have a tired hands milkshake....

Do they make cheese flavored wine coolers?

apologies if this is overly nitpicky but i don't think their base definition of "milkshake IPA" makes much sense. if we're talking a simple addition of lactose, you're basically just going to end up with an IPA with a creamy (not necessarily milky) texture to it. pointless to do a "milkshake" tasting just to point out that you don't much like the style by praising mostly beers that essentially are just typical IPAs/NEIPAs.

their core definiton should at minimum have to be lactose sugar + fruit or vanilla or nuts or candy/etc. i think you could make a good argument that vanilla is totally essential to the style too. marketers may call everything a "milkshake" but that's not a very good rationale to include it in the tasting, also weird not to include at least Omnipollo here considering how readily available their stuff is

Oy. Beer styles invoking types of foods favored by many Americans:
    • "Pastry" Stouts
    • "Milkshake" IPAs
    Next up:
    • "Pizza" Porter
    • "Burger" Barleywine
    • "Nachos" Mexican Lager
    • "Guacamole" Mole Beer
    • "Salsa" Sour
I mean, what the hell, we already have "*****" Pilsner (you know, that vagina yeast beer).

Probably the most amusing one of these paste reviews that I've read - this dig at the present beer culture amused me:

I just wanted to point out that this was funny. Nothing to contribute to this discussion about silly-ass milkshake IPAs, however. Carry on.

Some of their regular IPAs are good, but the french toast/blueberry/raspberry whatevers should NOT be called IPAs.

Because as half assed as most milkshake IPAs are, they at least have a chance at being good. No wine cooler will ever taste good. With that said, I don't drink either. But I've tried both, worlds of difference.

LOL, I don't listen to either, just always think of that song when I hear "milkshake".

Ah, was wondering why I wasn't seeing a Carton entry on the list. So it was actually published with it initially and they took it out? Where did it finish?

When I lived in Boston I had a blind date with a woman (who was born and raised in Mass.) who didn't think Connecticut was part of New England.
