Very good Oktoberfest. Great head retention and lacing. Aromas and flavors of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and light honey/nutty malts; with some light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery noble hops. A touch of fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Light herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready/grainy Munich malt and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Very clean on lager flavors, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Very smooth, flavorful, and pretty refreshing. 5%. Not overly sweet. Nicely clean and rich Pils/Munich malt showcase, with solid noble hop presence/balance. Spot on festbier style. Liked the Roak one a bit more for a local.

Still tasting fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, berry, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey and spicy rye bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very mildly warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.3%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops.

This is the last of my Tree House allotment I was gifted from my brother. What a great brewery, I just wish it was easier for me to get! Oh well, plenty of options these days.....

Stopped by the local brewery - Beaver Island - for their Pints for Pencils fundraiser. Always a good feeling donating school supplies for needy kids, and the free beer helps. I'll be honest, I wouldn't have had a clue about the need without this, so I'm very happy Beaver Island Brewing does it, and it's going on through Sunday for those in Minnesota who are interested.

Now for my "free" beer. A brand new one for me, and a new one for the BA system

River Hopper #4 Driftwood Double IPA

Pours a fairly clear golden color. There was decent head when they poured it into the glass, but they kept filling and most of it washed down the drain. What was left was white, and had decent retention. Some lacing on the glass.
Nose was quite strong with citrus. I got mango and grapefruit from it.
Taste - Up front it has the citrus - Mango and grapefruit that turns into, on the backside, more of a pine flavor.
The hops really cling all the way down and don't let go at all. The body is decent for a 2xIPA.
Well constructed double IPA, and it was fun to drink.

I got a 750 while I was there of a one off that they did of their Revival IPA - Spanish Orange Revival - which I'm drinking now

Pours a clear amberish color. The head is slightly off white, but there's a lot of it when poured from the 750ml howler. The retention is good, and lots of lacing on the glass.
The nose is very mild. Really not much there. I do get a slight orange aroma but that's about all.
Taste - well, there's some orange in it. It's really mild. Not too much else to it.
Body is decent. Not too thick, or thin.
I just don't know about this beer. It's ok, but nothing special about it.

I can't wait to see the school supply haul they get for the needy students here in District 742. Just happy to help in a small way.

Almost back to real time, Imgur has been horrendous! I’ve been getting a similar message to everyone else on this thread.

I was really impressed with this beer from Mikkeller. Cheers and goodnight BA

Jets and Giants games over... *yawn*

Currently watching the Cardinals and Broncos. Ate a lot of lemon pudding and a fake cheese and fake bologna half-sandwich. Also drank some Ardbeg Scotch. Whatevs, right?

Also finished watching Snowden on Amazon Prime, which was really cool, 'specially on the heels of the first coupla seasons of Homeland...

Currently checking out the cold pressed coffee iteration of Pumking...

Literally, Pumking with some coffee flavors...

Big brother is definitely watching, BA...

Went across the parking lot for the closer. The average beer quality in CO is ridiculous. Objectively bad chain restaurants have 5-10 quality taps. This is Pike’s Peak 38 Faces Pineapple Milkshake IPA.

Awesome gose! Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy rhubarb, red/green apple, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, berries, white wine, sea salt, hay, straw, and grass; with some wheat, cracker malts; light pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt, lactic acid, fruit tang/tannins, and light salinity in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy/carbonated dryness, no pucker. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.5%. Not overly lactic or salty. Great balance of jammy rhubarb, apples, and Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity for the ABV. Will get again. Spot on style.

Fantastic session IPA as always. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate lightly toasted biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.7%. Not watery at all. Amarillo/Simcoe hops just like Double Trouble, pretty much the same flavors. Very vibrant and fairly juicy/dank/earthy hops complexity; nice pale malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness. Will definitely keep this in the fridge more often now, forgot how much I loved it. Absolute best SIPA available. Got a super fresh 6 pack last week. Glad the cans are not exclusively in the 15 pack anymore!

Night of the flavored beers. - Enjoying a beer with "Mrs. Z" (@DoctorZombies). Had a craving for "the King" tonight. (At 8% that Imperial Slushy Berliner is no pushover either!)

Thing 1 just dropped off at college. Thing 2 just got a car and he's away tonight at a retreat for his high school. Me and Mrs. Z just tryin' to find ourselves again with all of this free time! Spinnin' it @FatBoyGotSwagger style. :sunglasses:
