What beer are you drinking now? #2145

I might be biased being from The Old North State, but there are some great breweries there, been about 3 years since I've been back, but I'm sure it has just gotten better...

 

Lastly, yet another 4-pack purchased upon my return home from points south.

Daughter number two wanted this NC beer. Not a problem. Did not like most I have had tonight.

 

Getting towards the end of Summer the local stores may be trying to reduce inventory. Not sure how good the scene is at OBX

Beer is called Juiced Moose

Lovely notes of juicy fruits up front with a firm supported sweet malt back end.

A well rounded IPA.

Watching Mayans M.C. with Lost Forty Moth of Sundays Amarillo PA, 5.5 ABV

 

My friends. I am thankful that I get to engage and you respond. Some not so positive. But that is cool. Some think like me (I pray for you).

Anyway, beer is out. Wine is in. Enjoying the time with my kids and grand kids.

 

It is brewed by Toppling Goliath exclusively for Hy-Vee.

 

A: What is: "A mercy kill."

 

My go-to session pumpkin ale. Awesome beer. Glad it is back again. Big robust flavors of pumpkin, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, and clove; with balanced toasted biscuit, brown sugar, and light caramel malt sweetness. Some mild balancing earthy spice/bitterness on the finish. Nice bready creaminess and light spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying spice. As far as a locally available 5% pumpkin ale, it really doesn’t get better than this one. Extremely flavorful with a nice mouthfeel for the ABV. Lots of authentic pumpkin fruit presence. Will be getting another pack eventually.


Omnipollo Oaxaca. This was excellent as expected. Aromas and flavors of big juicy mango, grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, 6.5%. Was expecting NEIPA stuff, but this was still delicious. No vanilla/lactose noticeable. Great balanced mix of juicy, dank, and earthy hops/fruit; nice pale/oat/wheat malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Mosaic, Simcoe, Galaxy, Azacca hops maybe.

Don't know why I didn't get into this band sooner.

 

My goodness this beer still remains one of my top IPAs of all time. It's truly incredible.

This right here is the real "liquid poem to the glory of the hop"!
