SN Octoberfest

 

The Clamato Trio has been in my fridge for a while. This was really tasty! No head retention/lacing, clinging bubbles on the glass. Flavors of big tomato juice, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chili pepper, peppercorn, and brown sugar; with lighter notes of clams, vinegar, cracker, white bread, and herbal/spice earthiness. Similar/muted aromas. Mild herbal bitterness and peppery spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Bready/grainy malts; light sticky spice, and creamy tomato in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter/spicy dryness. No cloying. Very flavorful/refreshing 4.2%. Lightly increasing pleasant lingering pepper heat through the glass. This is the biggest surprise of all time! Most other cheladas I've had were too heavy on tomato juice/body. This is perfect balance of Bud Light and Clamato flavors; with nice malt presence for the style. No Worcestershire sauce either. I drank this down quickly and easily. Can't wait to try the other 2 now. #1 rDev haters. I've learned to appreciate these so much this year. Really enjoy them now. 3.77

Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart/tangy mango, melon, pink guava, passion fruit, papaya, lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, berries, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive. 5.3%. Definitely feels like Mosaic/Citra. Great balance of juicy hops/fruit, with some dank/earthy notes; nice malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Really well done. 4

My grand sons are Hokie fans, they live in Wilmington, I'm ok there.

Daughter #2 got her undergrad and graduate degree from VT. Also met her husband there.

Crazy night tonight. More so than usual. Rented a cottage at OBX, NC. Both daughters, one son in law, granddaughter, brother in law and his wife and Zeke all met here. Lots of seafood, beer, and wine. Also some great photos of granddaughter and her family.

 

Wow! Denver is fun!
