What beer are you drinking now? #2148

I was wondering if someone was gonna post that last night. Cheers!

 

Starting with a Western theme . . .




Nice amber gold color with off white cap and lacing.

Aroma of caramel malt and spicy, floral hops.

Taste is malt forward with a substantial hop presence that doesn't traipse off into bitterness. Malt is a toasty, caramel style and the hops skip between being spicy and floral with spicy winning out. Not terribly complex but very well put together.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a straight forward amber that has more hop presence (in a good way) than I usually get with standard ambers. It does have that caramel character but the hops prevent it from wandering off into sweetness. Good stuff, food and company friendly.

 

Its Friday BAs so lets drink let it... Starting off with grimm zonk a triple ipa clocking in at 10%abv... I dont usually have triple ipas, but when I do it usually isn't a productive day cheers

 

Two of the advantages of working overnight is that I had time to run to my local yesterday and it’s already my weekend.
One of the OG Sand City IPAs, Fade to Jade, herbal, danky, lemon drop sweetness...all comes together really nice. Cheers all

Not getting that nice sun coming through the window so back to the usual perch on top of the fridge. Fucking delicious. Full of citrus. Nap afterward, I’ll be back on the other side my friends.

 

I am enjoying a delicious My Dads Boat by Alvarado Street Brewing Company. It is definitely a tasty treat. Prost!!!

Morning, BAs - I wanted to express my thanks to @TongoRad for a beer that I opened last night. He sent me a fantastic box a couple of days ago, and I've finally been able to get started.





Spellbound Porter aged on Palo Santo

I worried just a bit about this beer as the head was prodigious - but the nose was all vanilla and anise. Fantastic. The taste was sweet and full of chocolate notes, just a bit of lingering vanilla in the finish. I was surprised by how full the mouth feel was, given it's being a porter - I don't generally expect much beyond a thin, chocolaty mouth feel. This certainly bucks those expectations.

I'm surprised that I missed this beer at GABF last year. Though I was probably a little too drunk to clearly recall every single beer that I enjoyed... probably should have passed on the Black Tuesday, Utopias, and Monster's Park Vanilla.
