Nothing exciting!?!?!? (kidding, do like the new Huma labels though) How bouts Slurm Lord is at the pub, surely in distro soon! Personally I love the shit out of this beer, really excited to pick up a fresh sixer soon.

Yeah, I saw in Short's Twitter feed that they answered someone's question by mentioning Slurm Lord should hit shelves in two weeks, but nothing "official" yet. (Kinda strikes me as odd that it's being released in bottles instead of cans. I can't claim to know with 100% certainty, but every NEDIPA release I've seen has been canned)

Mule Beer should be coming soon as well. If you check the TTB online there's two different labels, the old one and a newer, simpler, and more stylized one.

Of course, the Variety Pack V.4 is coming up. Along with Autumn Ale and Hellacious Rock releases, September is going to be a busy month for news!

And hopefully they'll announce what the November TBA beer is soon, too.

    Did I miss an announcement?

Nothing concrete that I've seen, but V. 3 was announced June 27 and usually the variety packs get 2 to 3 months on the shelves. I'm assuming we'd at least get an announcement for V.4 in September, if not a release.

A late mid-to-late September release would line up nicely for a Hoppy Holidays pack release for late November, too.

    Feeling down? NEW BEER UP!

It's a shame Autumn Ale carries that name because while it definitely goes down nice while sitting on the porch on a mid-60 sunny afternoon, this amber is great in any season.

Just grabbed the first of many six packs of Autumn Ale! Such a great brew. Definitely drinkable anytime, but best this time of year. Also Nicie is beer #2 in sampler 4.0 shaping up to be a nice variety pack. Spruce and Nicie so far!

Here's some new artwork to keep an eye out for. Looks like Short's labels and branding are becoming more cohesive through the flagship/seasonal line.

Brown just got a refresh a little while ago (I believe it was the first of the flagships to do so), so I now wouldn't be surprised if Space Rock was next. If I had to guess, we'd probably see snowmobile Joe on a solid field of navy blue.

While having a similar theme for seasonals and flagships can help create a better shelf display, I hope this doesn't start happening to the limited releases. The artwork is part of the fun.

Anyone else notice Autumn Ale is now labeled as an Amber Ale and not an E.S.B.? Did they completely change the recipe/style? Or just realize they weren't making an E.S.B. Or am I dumb and those are interchangeable style-names?

No, you're correct. I noticed it since they stamped "amber ale" on the label. Funny enough, if you go to Short's web page and search Autumn Ale in the portfolio the search result still says ESB. Same thing happened to Wowee Zowee, I believe (from blonde to amber). Maybe Short's feels it might sell better being advertised as an Amber instead of an ESB?

Following hot on the heels of the Autumn Ale release comes the first of two new seasonals: Slurm Lord!

The entire Great Lakes region will be seeing this one through November.

Which brings up a question: if Slurm Lord, PGGB, and Hellacious Rock are all getting their own release, what's going to be in the Hoppy Holidays pack?

I would say Superfluid is a pretty safe guess with the new label. Maybe Batch 8000 might show up in 12oz bottles after a bomber release like they did with Batch 5000 two years ago.

Other than that I have no idea, but I would like to see a private stash beer like Barney Blood and a classic like Goodnight Bodacious make it in there too.

So with Nicie and Spruce confirmed, maybe they'll do a classics variety pack of all their regular limited release beers they didnt get to this year like Noble Chaos and Kind Ale.

    Outrageous? Bodacious?

    Hellacious!

I personally enjoyed the hell out of this one when it was in the Hoppy Holidays pack, ranking third behind PGGB and Batch 5000.
Oh man, that last pack destroyed me.

Currently drinking a 5 day old Hellacious Rock. It is so damn good. Glad it is in Sixers this year.

Heads up! Hasn't hit the website yet but Short's Twitter feed has posted that the second of two seasonals is on its way!

Unlike Slurm Lord this one goes till December and is Michigan only. I've got my copper mug ready. Between this one MMB, and Totally Noche with lime we should see cases of scurvy in the distro area drop.

Also note the new stylized logo, forgoing the Mule deer-triangle thing on the previous label.
