I'll add to the pile-on. That was the best beer they're ever made.

Some of their malt-forward beers like Brown Shugga and WTF are too sweet for me. But they have a lot of winners in the hoppy category. The regular IPA is IMHO about as good as you can get for that availability and price point. Little Sumpin Sumpin is my favorite beer of that style without a doubt, and its cousin Sumpin Wild is nice too. I'm definitely looking forward to Sucks again. I'm not quite as into the Imperial Red style as I used to be, but for the style Lucky 13 is one of the best. etc

I'll be sure to buy a sixer this year and wax poetic about it

Sucks was here in WNY last winter and Brown Shugga is here now. Try Premier Gourmet.

Word at the time was that it was only going to get brewed once. From the stories I heard, it was a test in the Brown Shugga container that caused Brown Shugga to go unreleased, thus the name. It was a hit, but I think everyone missed Brown Shugga. Who knows. I didn't pay much attention to beer since I had an allergy.

Just make sure it is in Limerick form, and utilizes a double-entendre for the word 'Sucks'.

+1 for Pils. And Cappuccino Stout was definitely one of their least impressive. Also, on paper, Brown Shugga should be one of my favorite beers of all time which I sought out like crazy before finally finding and, while it's certainly tasty, I find it to be a bit too boozy most of the time; to the point where I can only have one and then it's on to something else. Other than that, everything else by them is the shit.

Wheres the love for the Bavarian-Styled Doppel Weizen???? I really liked that one. Also a fan of Brown Shugga, and most of their other offerings. Cappuccino Stout is the only one I really didn't care for.

Lagunitas is one of my absolute favorite breweries as they can't be beat in regard to bang for the buck. Most of their beers do have a similar taste profile, and their beers fall into a strange nexus of IPA, DIPA and Strong Ale. Many of these beers don't truly fit a defined style, but are all firmly the "Lagunitas Style".

That said, their non "Lagunitas Style" beers (Imperial Stout, Cappuccino Stout, Pils) aren't very good. However, I do like Hairy Eyeball, which is different for them.

Tell me this was a poor attempt of sarcasm on the name of the beer, please.

I actually thought the Doppel Weizen was outstanding, but it seemed to be quite polarizing. Too bad it will likely never return, as it was so out of the norm for them, yet as good as their hoppy stuff.

I have a real soft spot for Lagunitas. As a child, my family would travel to Petaluma every year to see my Great Grandma, so I have been to that brewery almost every year of my life. When I finally turned 21, by Dad bought me a Hop Stoopid and that beer made me want to own a brewery some day. I still keep a Hop Stoopid in my fridge at all times. I love almost all of their other offerings! Sucks was one of the best beers I have had to date.

The only one I didn't like was Hairy Eyeball. Just not good. Little Sumpin Sumpin is easily one of my top 5 and I liked this years Little Sumpin Wild.

It was fantastic. One of the only doppels I ever really wanted seconds of. No mention, however, because there are so many beers that they just knocked out of the park.

I see what you did there...

Lagunitas makes very good & well priced beers. Very dependable and good over and over again. I will agree with other posters the Cappacino stout was not my favorite, but I wouldn't say it was bad either. From a value stand point they are probably my favorite brewery. Sucks and Hop Stoopid are truly great beers that I seek again and again.
