Haha nice one man! Very funny. Don't think you were there so didn't get a chance to meet you, but for a majority of people who were there knows we were sharing and having a good time, not just sitting on our asses the whole time. Cheers man!

 

Don't bother trying with these guys. The self righteousness and hate really comes out when hype and lines are involved.

Literally idiocracy in these people. They compare new beer to other world class beers, but then states it has little to no barrel, but deserves a 5 star for overall quality. Do these people even actually know how to review beer or just read off a cue card written by a bunch of stoners wearing 6xl shirts..

 

Pretty sure mules camping out 24 hours for trade bait then overhyping the beer to inflate its value/scarceness is what's wrong with the community.

 

You invalidate your own point here. Morning delight, at least the first batch, was regarded as one of the worlds best stouts and that did not even touch barrels. A barrel doesn't automatically make a beer good or bad. The first 3 hennas are world class and never saw a barrel. Take a good look in the mirror before calling people idiots. I am just saying that this is a very well done beer. That is that. I'm not trying to hype it up. I never said it was the second coming of Christ.

 

Yes, that too. The hobby is perverted with max profiteers and mules galore. Sucks, but that is what it is now. Without camping out for this beer, most people would never have the means to try it unless going secondary, which some people don't really want to do (give up hundreds for a beer)

There is nothing we can do. Hype people will hype. I gave it a 4.75 because that is what I think it deserves. I only hope you get a chance to try it, should you wish. And by all means rail the fuck out of it if you dislike the beer. That is the one good and bad thing about Untappd. Some people post legit reviews, while others try to inflate it. If you were local to SoCal i'd totally invite you for when I pop mine.

 

One has to wonder if they're rating that due to how hard it is to obtain.

Agreed! I was just out there to get a bottle to share with friends, meet some cool folks, and support Charles and his team.

 

At some point, I'd love to try some 3Chiefs, but it's already hard enough to make time to make the lines at Monkish. And I was one of the idiots that stayed overnight for JFK2LAX the first release.

Hopefully there's gonna be more and more releases with bigger batches in the future.

 

I think those of us who resist this new paradigm of artificial scarcity and 12 hour+ long queues involving folding chairs and vaping just want to try the beer without it being a spectacle. Also, LOL at thinking this stuff exists within a vacuum.

Not clear if it's an up-to-date menu, but they have PILS Good, Locals First, Jungle Juice, FIGO, and Two Lovers on tap.

 

So you're telling me by comparing non barrel aged beers to a beer aged in a barrel for only 5 months as a way to say it should be regarded in the same level of class and taste? Ummm ok. And yeah you've hyped this beer enough just so you could be picked for their "random" selection membership.

 

Okay, I was wrong. I read your initial comment as me relating it to a non BA beer, but you just made mention of me saying it didn't have a ton of barrel presence due to the fact it was only aged for about 5 months. I apologize, my misunderstanding on that point. I guess all I'm trying to say is I enjoyed this beer, a lot. To hell what other people say or think about it. No use beating a dead horse. I'm not here to sway opinions, just wanted to give my 2 cents on the whole situation since I felt it was a little unfair how people wanted to automatically trash the beer and this brewery, before trying some of their stuff. Whatever. It's just fucking beer in the end. People want to cause a scene, let them. I'll just enjoy it with friends.

If you/your friends didn't care at least a little, there's no way you'd be doing whatever you're doing to have 9K followers. The whole social media community with this nonsense - including hype, which is perpetuated by social media - is what is wrong with the beer scene. I'm all for everyone enjoying their beer, but sounds like you are supporting the hype machine.

 

Fair enough. You did research stalking my other post. I only mentioned that because somebody said I looked like a fake account because I made this on Saturday, when I'm just trying to establish credibility. Before Saturday I did most of my trading through Facebook. You're taking that specific line out of context a bit. But good point behind social media hype. I just didn't want the guy to think I'm some "fake" account for being previously banned just because I have an SR vert as my avatar pic. I just like how it looked.
