Anyone here try it? Barrels seemed divisive

 

just had a pour. i like FVM 18 better but it’s srill a world class beer. chocolate and decadent. syrupy thick.

 

Cheerteam (draft only at the Brewpub, as far as I know) blew me away last weekend. It was the perfect mix of NE IPA and FFF overly-hopped bitterness. Wish they would distribute it!

Anyone heard anything new on these:

-Supposed Fall distillery opening?
-Construction of the new brewpark (doesn't look like anything has changed since DLD)?
-Mysterious Chicago space from a few years back?

 

1. No idea.
2. Yeah, I was there a few weeks ago and I didn't even see construction equipment.
3. Supposedly a Warpigs Brewpub. Why hasn't it opened? No idea. Latest theory I heard was taking time to create Warpigs as a big brand in Chicago. Generate some buzz before brewpub opens.

 

So uh.... did I miss BA Behemoth this year? Or....

 

Nope. There really haven’t been any BA releases this year outside of Dark Lord variants (unless I’m forgetting about a BA sour somewhere in there). The prevailing thought is that all barrel agining went toward having enough bottles for this year’s Dark Lord variants (and not like past couple of years where you could have gotten vintage regular DLs or previous years’ DL variant).

 

And I'm down with that, even though BA Behemoth is a drastic improvement over the base.

 

Heard you're going to get 2 BA bottles this year. Price is $300 a ticket.

 

Can't tell if this is serious or just having fun with everyone's emotions.

 

Considering they don't even tell you the variant until 3 days before the fest....

 

Would you prefer 2 BA bottles and a price hike?

 

What is your source on this? Considering 2 years ago they didn't even have enough yield for everyone to get 1 bottle, I will file this under the "Brewery Caught Fire" section

 

Considering price was $180 last year, I wouldn’t support a $300 price tag with a 2nd variant. Variant pricing was traditionally $35... if they bumped it to $250 I would bite.

 

Dark Lord aged in bourbon barrels that survived a brewpub fire....now that's rare....

 

I haven't paid less than $50 for a variant in like 8 years....what is this traditionally stuff?

 

What tradition is this? Been $50 for a grip now.

Price is still no obstacle for DL variants. I'd love to see them keep pushing prices like J Wake, Angry Chair, Side Project, and TG are.
