Finally tried a Siberian Night by Thirsty Dog and came away very impressed. Right up there with a crowded group of favorites like Founders BS, GL-Blackout, Old Rasputin, and Expedition Stout...have to say there's a lot to like about the options available for this style lots of solid choices.

The Abyss is still the best I've had and the fact that I don't have to seek it out elsewhere doesn't hurt.

It really isnt that hard to trade for. If you have any abyss left, that should do the trick!

Non BB or BA stout is Courage RIS followed very closely by Founders IS. Now if you include barrel or bourbon barrel versions, then it is Black Tuesday.

If you dont like the belgo, dont let it stop you from trying the reg. It was overpowering black licorice, and I was not a fan, awful! IMO, but the reg is a very nice brew.

I have never had ten-fidy and the more I hear about it the more excited I get. I might have to make a trip up to Wisconsin this weekend to try and get a 4 pack (or 2... or 3).

I found Dark Intrigue very enjoyable as well, but it seems we are in the minority. As for my favorite RIS, I would have to go with Darkness after a year in the cellar. Let the hating begin!

I should add that Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout is a GREAT intro Imperial Stout and a highly underrated beer.

KBS is def my fav Imp Stout of the many wonderful stouts out there. BCBS, Pt5, FIS, CBS, FBS, Expedition, Peruvian Morning, Big Hugs, BA Old Raspy, Stone IRS, Espresso Yeti, DORIS, and Mokah are some of my other favs.

I just got some Beer Geek Breakfast, Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, BORIS #100, and BORIS from FedEx today, so I'm looking forward to trying them out.

I'd love to try The Abyss, Speedway, Hunahpu, Black Tuesday, BCBCS, Black Note, Dark Lord, Parabola, KtG, Darkness, and many of the other Imp Stouts and RIS out there.

I've always passed Ten fidy over, something about a can. Tried it this weekend, wobbled my knees with it's goodness, it's a fine fine brew.

Hello. So at this point most everybody has mentioned my favorites by now so I'll just write a few that I haven't seen mentioned so far, or at least I didn't see them. Dogfish Bitches Brew is technically a blend of Imperial Stouts and a honey beer so that could slide in as an Imperial Stout. From BrewDog you have Tokyo and the Paradox Series (although these are barrel aged on whisky barrels and such). Finally here in Dallas TX we have some new breweries that are getting off the ground and they actually make very good stuff. Lakewood Brewing has a beer called the Temptress which is fantastic and Deep Ellum Brewing Company has a beer called the Darkest Hour which is pretty damn good. They will start bottling before too long and I'll be glad to send these all over the country to whomever may be interested.
